Me too, @ChessieFL - I love it! It's like regular Strictly but without the peril.

This explains why the Xmas threads are never as busy!
I watch it every year while fam take the piss out of me.

I quite like the idea of someone dancing to Elton John and George Michael's Wrap her up with some wrapping paperography.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rylan do the Christmas special, he does have lovely hip action!

Jeremy Hunt made millions in a randomly successful startup as a young man and spent a chunk of it on getting a sprung ballroom floor installed in his home. Almost makes me warm to him - but not quite.

Some celebs looked tired in the training room on ITT tonight. Saturday will
be interesting !

I love the Xmas special. I thought Rosie Ramsey was fab last year.

Funnily enough I'm not a huge fan of the Christmas special- although I did apply unsuccessfully for tickets for it.
Has anyone in here ever been successful in the ticket ballot for any of the shows?

Not yet ! I've only just started applying in the last couple of years. My friend was successful a few years ago.

Somebody here said they managed to go on musicals week back in 2017.

I remember this in particular because it was the week when Alexandra Burke ended in the bottom 2, and they'd described her behaviour in comparison what they showed on TV.

I haven't tried myself. Too far for me.

I usually watch the Strictly Cmas special at some point in that strange period between the 27th and 30th when life feels in limbo.

It's entertaining enough but as someone said, we don't get to see enough of the celebs if we don't already know and like them.

I won tickets in the ballot. But didn’t read the terms and conditions until won. Then realised I couldn’t wait that long for toilet breaks. It looks a very very long day.
So I returned them.

That's a shame. I have heard it's a long day and a lot of queuing/waiting around involved.

My bladder isn’t that good.
On my email you have to queue for ticket for show, first thing in morning. Then leave and return afternoon, with no guarantee that you get in! Then only allowed one bottle of water.
I decided would rather watch on tv and go to the professionals shows.

They have finally changed that system for this year: now if you get a ticket you will have a seat, so you just rock up at 3pm and get validated. No midnight queuing.

But the loos/water/general waiting around would still be an issue.

Thank goodness for that. I won about 5 years ago and my bladder is worse now. 😆

Is that why some of the people watching look miserable? Been sat thirsty and hungry desperately needing the loo for hours?

I’ve been to the Halloween show a few years back, was a very long day! But loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat! You do get breaks for loo but not allowed to take anything in with you to recording.

Ooh, which year was that? Were the celebs and pros what you thought they were like on real person?

Few years ago now , my memories are Aliaz was great he came on waved like mad to the audience, stood behind a door prop and was still smiling waving even when music started and it was his cue, then he was off through the door no nerves, very happy!
Graziano looked straight at me while waiting for his cue in the professionals dance and winked at me (Faints) He is one of the more average sized guys some are tiny like Gorka and Kevin.
They danced and then had to dance again due to camera angles so we got to see it twice! Then back on with their celeb dance partners so they were working hard.

Anton was more serious his celeb (Eastenders lady)and him walked on not speaking and focused then danced.
Judges came on first got camera angles sorted etc then went away coming back later on.
Shirley was very serious no chat looked at her book a lot.
Craig never looked at anyone and seemed very aloof.
Bruno chatted to people around his seat.
Claudia was a hoot kept pulling at her dress at the start saying her knickers were stuck or some such! Tess looked extremely nervous and could'nt walk in her heels so had to be guided by someone holding hands into the different places she does her bit to camera. Perhaps nerves were caused by her daughter and friends being in the audience that night.
These were my main memories of a long day, there were breaks but many waits for changing props scenery etc and being asked not to discuss the result as we left as press around.

Forgot Katya is stunning in real life, tiny and what a dancer! My other fav dancer you watch even when others are on was AJ if you remember him its a shame he left he was mesmerizing when he danced.Although think it was a jive and he was just so fast so thats why he stood out as a dancer for me. Oti was of course amazing but she quickly changed into a comfy jumper.had her glasses on and jeans I got a picture of her in her casual look later.

I never warmed to AJ and went even colder on him when he turned up for a brief - and very badly acted - stint in Hollyoaks.
