MAFSUK - thread 9 This matchmaking lark is quite tricky. When some are decidedly picky. They’ll meet for a blether, and then get together, but only because they’re so sticky.

The show might have lost its appeal
For some that won’t be a big deal
It may just be snark
But they have jumped the shark
With the return of one I and P Beale.

And nip flashing peg? Brace yersel.

Jay and Luke are still together according to Hearts recent Facebook post Confused

Oh no. I was hoping Jay would have seen what really went on after the episodes have aired :(

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 31/10/2023 10:48

Luke will be saving face. Can't dump her yet but he will.

My autocarrot has teamed up with my fat thumb and poor diction (let some of it be dictated) and has produced a post a 3year old would take exception to.

I’m blaming it on a multitask fail due to walking, talking, texting and rage!

I haven't liked Luke from the start when he was awful to Laura for essentially being a bit posh anyone would be compared to him and Jay.

I forgot about that! He was calling her stuck up or something.

Luke is just scum

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 31/10/2023 11:01

Nospecialcharactersplease · 30/10/2023 23:26

Of course. But they were petty and pleased with themselves, despite Luke showing remorse and humility. Not people I’d want in my orbit.

No, he absolutely was doing the apology because he had to - he was in front of the experts and the group.
That's why he hadn't already done it. He could easily have gone to speak to Jordan calmly at any point after the altercation and hadn't.

Can't you see how insincere it was?! It was blindingly obvious he apologised to save face!

CherryCokeFanatic · 31/10/2023 11:24

Can’t stand Jordan tbh, the way he talks just makes me cringe. He is definitely making a point of taking the moral high ground on absolutely every opinion he has. No doubt he has others he just says the ones he thinks will look best on camera. I think Erica is similar in how she tries to make things about her. They want to be the top couple.

Lukes behaviour inexcusable but the production have no doubt encouraged it. Coincidentally filming within Jordan and Erica’s apartment and happily following Luke down the corridor. Who’s to bet they encouraged Luke and Jay to talk about last night to amp up some emotions, then said why don’t you go see Jordan down the corridor and have it out with him - hoping to get a nice dramatic argument to film. But of course they are both so macho so Luke bangs the door ridiculously and Jordan is straight away puffing his chest in his face saying why are you banging on the door. Then the shoving/grappling which was so childish 🤣 but ultimately unacceptable. The producers have to take some accountability for causing the whole scene.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 31/10/2023 11:24

Not my work banging sadly!

Luke showed neither remorse nor humility. He wouldn't know a sincere apology if it battered down his door and pushed him over. He was the exact same when he called Laura a gold-digger - he does not take responsibility for his actions and that's why he's dangerous. He thinks everything he did and said was fine. He is only annoyed he got caught out. But he blames other people for that.

This series has been such an absolute shitshow that I wondered if there had been any changes in the production team. The sexism, violence, anti-women agenda - it's all front and centre this time - and it wasn't before. Turns out they did recruit a new senior staff member this year. I'm thinking that's not a coincidence.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 31/10/2023 11:31

I honestly think they are making merry.

They have fisticuffs, vulva wrestling, bottle spinning, sex toys and ‘affairs’ but no conversation. No getting to know people. Their thoughts and dreams are largely a mystery.

It is the poor man’s clarty version of Albion Market. (Blast from t’past)

It is a million miles from the MAFS I have loved.

@SheldonesqueTheBstard 🤣🤣 auto 🥕
Sorry guys, I'm struggling to see what everyone likes about Erica and Jordan. He is dull as dishwater with an arrogant shitstiring habit and she has main character syndrome, with all the head wobbling and eye rolling. I don't think they are in the bit least intelligent, emotionally or otherwise. I'm sorry for what happened to them though, Luke was out of line, but the pair of them are as fake as Peggy's lips.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 31/10/2023 12:13

Couldn’t agree more about Erica and Jordan temp

I feel they’ve only been put in there to stir the pot. (If we aren’t having our plonkers pulled)

And however badly Luke has appeared, it is quite surprising how everyone went to Jay and Luke and left that pair festering on the sofa.

Something isn’t making sense.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 31/10/2023 12:17

To me, the only thing Erica and Jordan have done "wrong" is be sure of themselves... What a crime! Probably because they know they aren't morons like the rest of the group.

But I hope the people here hating on them put Peggy further down in their estimation than Erica and Jordan considering she is advocating violence and is a bully herself. But it doesn't seem to be coming through on here. Strange

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 31/10/2023 12:18

Btw who was scissoring again and was it clothes on or off?! 🫣

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 31/10/2023 12:19

To be fair though, I did warm to Erica for having a pop at Ella. Because Erica (and Jordan separately) was the only one with the orbs to say it.

Would I like them ‘in my orbit’?

No. I’m the same as @Nospecialcharactersplease in that regard.

Thsy haven’t quite got something of the night about them, but they are fairly of the gloaming.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 31/10/2023 12:21

Think Roz and Jay from what was on the last thread?

No idea if vulva wrestling was au naturel or not.

OP posts:
Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 31/10/2023 12:32

I think they'd be fine in the real world tbh.

Hmm scissoring seems a strange thing to do on a night of spin the bottle 🤔

MelsMoneyTree · 31/10/2023 12:58

I think Jordan is doing exactly what London's 'Maaaate' campaign asked men to do ie pull up other 'blokes' when they're being sexist and inappropriate. It doesn't make you popular but it's the right thing to do.
I'm not saying I'd be rushing to the pub with any of them. But you don't need to like people to be able to see they're speaking sense and being bullied then assaulted.
Since the entire production company hasn't changed (which was my first thought and why I checked) then I'm holding out hope that next season ditches all the nonsense that sneaked in this time. Otherwise I think my UK MAFS days will be over. Although I'll still cling on to the other countires.

SagaNorensPorche · 31/10/2023 13:11

It's all bollocks quite frankly isn't it. They can't act for shit, all had smirks on their faces during and after the fight. Then Erica is all triggered at the commitment ceremony but she didn't look triggered at the time. I've seen primary school productions with better acting. Georges's 'crying' too was hilarious - he looked like he wanted to laugh. As an aside, Peggy's dad's initial reaction 'like bollocks you are' or whatever he said, told us all we need to know about her. She's daddy's princess and her husband will need to treat her similarly. Georges seems like a strong character but he never looks like he really gives a shit tbh which is probably pissing her off more than the twerking video; she wants fighting over every second I reckon.

I'm not sure I like any of them, it's all just for the gram / post-show 15 minutes. Think this format has run its course, the blonde expert looked close to nodding off at one point last night. I hope they bring back the old format.

And can Roz Truss please stfu about sex toys. Her poor parents listening to that.

Obvs I'll watch till the end 😂

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 31/10/2023 13:15

Quite saga

If I hear ‘beautiful’ murmured appreciatively one more time by the blonde expert, my not so beautiful scaly trotter will want to hoof my telly.
