MAFSUK - thread 9 This matchmaking lark is quite tricky. When some are decidedly picky. They’ll meet for a blether, and then get together, but only because they’re so sticky.

The show might have lost its appeal
For some that won’t be a big deal
It may just be snark
But they have jumped the shark
With the return of one I and P Beale.

And nip flashing peg? Brace yersel.

Matt might be a nice guy but that over inflated shape is so off putting 🤮

What does Georges see in Peggy? Aside from mean girls Tasha and Ella, she is by far the least engaging of the wives. She has no chat, she's nothing special to look at and I'd genuinely rather spend an evening talking to my dishcloth.

But yet he seems bizarrely smitten...

Plastic madonna with the big boobies.

AtlasPine · 31/10/2023 22:38

During her apology, Tasha was like a moody Yr 9 who knows they’re going to be excluded unless they say the right thing to the head of year. Sorry, never happen again, yes it was wrong, can this uncomfortable moment end now.

Paul has ignored the red flags because he honestly didn’t think he would be at the end of her nasty temper. Did he really think it wouldn’t eventually come for him?

It’s a common red flag to ignore. People show you what they’re like and what your future could be like together by the way they treat others around you.

Thomas being a bit sneery about Arthur 🤔

I didn’t warm to that either. Catty and meant to make Laura question herself.

This is a fair point. But he could have those plus someone with a modicum of personality.

Brad - creepy, controlling narcissist
Ella - prowly handed narcissist
Tasha - aggressive and controlling narcissist
Luke - violent gaslighting knobhead narcissist
Peggy - controlling, uptight narcissist
Sean - complete mental breakdown, possibly drug-related
Jordan - fragile mental health
Thomas - fragile mental health
Mark - fragile mental health

This entire series has been about matching the most unsuitable, violent, controlling and gaslighting people with people who are not in any way mentally or emotionally equipped to deal with them. And then asking them questions like, who's the best couple and what do you hate about your partner.

It's really honestly disgusting how exploitative this series has been.

SwedishEdith · 31/10/2023 22:47

Hopefully Adrienne will calm down the lips and fake tan after watching this. She really doesn't need it.

determinedtomakethiswork · 31/10/2023 22:47

I love how Peggy and Matt had to spend a couple of days together, boring each other to death

43ontherocksporfavor · 31/10/2023 22:48

Totally agree @beastlyslumber

This series has been like being on the waltzers - dizzy from the rapid spins, lots of ups and downs, no clue who or what you'll glimpse in the 5 minutes you can focus and then it's off again. Some violent types hovering round the edges. Everything feeling a bit unsavoury. And by the end you're slightly queasy and glad to escape.

😂

So true.
What redress can the participants have against the producers? They must have a duty of care. The fact they 'provide' MH support means they're acknowledging responsibility. I hope someone sues them. The only way they'll drop this format and stop being negligent is if they are forced to by a regulator or/and it costs them money.

I thought the same. A botox face, no real charisma.Peggy would suck the life out of anyone I’m sure !

Georges does that tongue rolling thing though which is quite annoying though

AtlasPine · 31/10/2023 22:51

I wonder if the issue between Tasha and Paul was something to do with her being nasty to him in front of someone else. He seemed more anxious about her showing respect and how that would look in front of his friends than whatever it actually was she did. However, that’s editing of course.

determinedtomakethiswork · 31/10/2023 22:52

MouseMinge · 31/10/2023 21:41

I still like Sean. Yes, his behaviour is going to upset Mark but he's not setting out to do that which I think is making him feel more shitty, so it's shit upon shit upon shit. Mark has been quiet in the experiment so it's hard to know if he is sweet or if he's still the little arsehole he was in the run up to the wedding and on the wedding day. He was fucking awful then and if there is any of that when the cameras aren't on he will be a nightmare to live with.

Sean is off his head on drugs.

Apparently three contestants have been in trouble with the producers over drugs this year. It's pretty clear that Sean is one of them

SwedishEdith · 31/10/2023 22:56

I think Georges is just being strategic swooning over Peggy so she doesn't vote leave again.

Paul2023 · 31/10/2023 22:57

I’m amazed Ella and JJ haven’t had sex yet ! Ehhrrr !!

murasaki · 31/10/2023 23:07

I'm not. I think JJ may have thought about the reality of it.

Two Georges and Adrienne seemed to have a good time. I can see why he down played it to Peggy, and was surprised she like the horrid yellow knickers, but they are much better suited.

Tasha is surely another.

JaneJeffer · 31/10/2023 23:08

Yep

murasaki · 31/10/2023 23:10

Sean is clearly on something. I started off thinking Mark was a demanding tosspot, but feel sorry for him now, he's tried to change his past behaviour, and Sean, who seemed nice initially, shouldn't be there. Team Mark these days.
