I knew he was married to Jane Danson. He seems to have been in most things, I remember him in Brookside and sure he's been in Corrie and Hollyoaks as well. I stopped watching Hollyoaks over 4 years ago.

Chas will probably be fine in the end. I hope so, or they have potentially left two young children without a mum in one episode. I know children in Emmerdale are at a massively increased risk of losing at least one parent, but still.
