Inside it is a highly cryptic message written by Isabelle which leads to a reopening of her murder case and turmoil in the town...

Black Snow is set in the small Australian town of Ashford was rocked to its core when 17 year-old schoolgirl Isabel Baker was murdered back in 1994. Her killer was never found, but when a time capsule buried a few weeks before her death is opened it reveals some chilling clues about the case!

Following two timelines, one in 1994 and one in 2019, this six-part drama follows Detective James Cormack, played by Vikings star Travis Fimmel, as he tries to crack a cold case that has haunted the town for decades. "James has a lot of issues, childhood issues that he’s still dealing with, parental figures, and I think that’s the reason he became a cold-case detective," says Travis. "It’s cathartic for him to investigate the case, but it brings up lots of painful memories.

Following the two timelines of 1994 and 2019, the drama delves into Ashford’s past and brings up heartbreaking memories for Isabelle’s best friend, Chloe Walcott (Neighbours (https://www.whattowatch.com/neighbours)star Brooke Satchwell) who still lives in Ashford.
Isabel’s death was also devastating for her younger sister Hazel Baker (Jemmason Power) who believes her family were discriminated against by the police because of their heritage as South Sea Islanders.

So he killed 3 people

I liked it. It was different and it kept you guessing right til the end.

I thought the one who died in the barn was beaten up by the dad, so he did kill him along with the other two. But, depending on how many they had going through there who disappeared it could be many more.

So for 25yrs anton knew who killed Isabelle and was his dad

No wonder he was fucked up

Anton and Hazel didn't have a future together - she did say he was to be married.
Did he marry ?
I thought he didn't.
I thought it was Anton's sister (the baby who Anton's father said was being molested by the one of the missing boys ) and her children we saw visiting the family home.

@Blondeshavemorefun One of the boys - the one he eventually shot - heard the baby crying and went into the house out of concern as he thought the baby had been left alone (presumably?) - but the crazy dad went apeshit and started beating him. The other boy intervened and the dad turned and beat him so badly he eventually got the infection and died.

While he was kicking and beating the second boy, the first one ran, and the dad then pursued him on the trail bike. That’s when Izzy saw the boy burst out of the sugar field in terror and run off, then the bike shoot out seconds later.

It took me a while to cope with the shifting timelines!

@Halsall I agree with your "synopsis".

'Enjoyed' this, if that's the right word, but the older people , the parents, didn't look any older 25 years later. The pastor didn't have a single wrinkle or grey hair!
Thought that aspect of it was poorly done, and led to (my) confusion with the time-shifting occasionally.

So he knows his brother is alive but wouldn't know where he lives unless he was checked when he went to see his father in prison . Perhaps it's set up for another series .

Surely the brother would have to have security clearance to visit his father, a murderer ?
So therefore the prison authorities would have his details.

I'm currently watching but it's not gripping me.I find myself thinking of other things,like when the cop came to speak to Billy's sister I was trying to read the titles of the books on the table next to her.
I cant take to the actress of izzy,don't think she can act particularly well so this ruins it for me.
Quite like the copper character even though his grinning put me off at first.

Finished this yesterday, even though the characters weren't particularly nice I did enjoy this and had no idea who it would be. Hope there's a second series for him to find his brother
