A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese, Thai & Chinese drama as & when.

but our list is cumulative so includes recommendations and favourites from all previous threads. Shows marked with a star are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. AmVa, if you are a fan of the under eye small mole that seems so effective on Seo In Guk, look up the Chinese actor Bai Jingting. I have just finished a light but well done C-Drama where he is a Capt in SWAT dating a smart Dr. Once I got over how incredibly small his waist was/is 😯it settled into a nice easy view. FL did v well as well, played it very normal.

I found my first grey eyebrow hair at the weekend. 😱 To be fair, my eyebrows have done well to hold out this long. I pulled out my first grey head hair at 21. 🤣

I do like Kim Young Dae, enjoyed Forbidden Marriage and Sh**ting Stras a lot. Not sure this will have the same vibe, as described as suspense/thriller.

I watched the first episode dragon - it was good 👍 I am familiar with the webtoon though, so I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks of it....

I'm feeling a bit bad now about Wi Ha Joon. I'm sure if I met him in person I'd be dazzled. Tony Head smiled at me once in Tescos and left me a bit weak at the knees so Wi Ha-joon would probably floor me 😂

Anyway, Moon in the Day does look interesting but so does about a million other dramas atm. I can't keep up! I've just started Revenant with DH and polkettle's real life photos of Yulje Medical Centre has finally pushed me into watching Hospital Playlist and I've got 3 or 4 others on the go as well plus a copy of Alex Kerr's Lost Japan to read. There just aren't enough hours in the day.

Without having heard the album 🤔 I agree with this review. I'd love to know what the same reviewer made of Indigo or D-Day (or any of the other solo releases, for that matter).

Daily Dose of Sunshine has dropped on Netflix. I'm feeling my appetite for K dramas returning with this one. Off work today (yippee!) so might nip downstairs alone, brew a coffee and snuggle in for a morning viewing. Ahhh I'm feeling invigorated!!

I like Alexis Petridis. He's less sneery about BTS than others have been. I agree with you, I think he's got this one pretty spot on.

That's a good review, I like Alex Petridis as well - I was laughing at the comparison to R Kelly's 'ignition' 🫢 heheh.
