Sorry if I'm late to the party, but I've just seen this.

Can't wait to start (cancels all plans for the rest of the day).

There's an episode of Diary of a CEO podcast with Ashley Walters that's an interesting listen.

Sounds like there were so creative tensions for the final series.

foxlover47 · 03/10/2023 03:45

@BlindyPeakers thank you for sharing that directors video ! That is so interesting to know that it was his choice to not reveal the killer !

foxlover47 · 03/10/2023 03:45

Well his idea that they all decided to go with

aqiarious · 03/10/2023 04:22

I'm another who watched 3-5 first and am now watching Summerhouse.

I haven't seen anything decent for ages so was pleasantly surprised by how good this was.

It's a pleasure! Makes the identity of the shooter even more tantalising though!

@BlindyPeakers yes it really does !! According to Reddit threads I'm watching they seem to all be sure it's Jac they get a bit passionate if anyone even throws Si or anyone else into the mix 🙈😂

aqiarious · 03/10/2023 19:40

I think it had to have been Jac @foxlover47

I can't see Stefan having immediately changed his mind after coming to the conclusion Sully wasn't worth it. Anybody else, other than Jac or Stefan, would have made sure to take the bag from the car instead of walking past.

aqiarious · 03/10/2023 19:43

Though did anyone spot what happened to Stefan's brother, Aaron? He'd finished university hadn't he so I'm not sure why Stefan ended up in the home?

I think Stef said he was working in Leeds.

foxlover47 · 06/10/2023 20:00

This is one of the things that confused me most this season. I just don't see Aaron leaving Steph behind in foster care , Jamie was so so about keeping the family together wasn't he. So maybe after he went Aaron decided there was too much grief staying in summerhouse after he was killed and either steph wouldn't agree to come to Leeds or he decided he couldn't be a dad figure any longer ?

mizu · 06/10/2023 21:06

Just finished and been chatting to DD1 about it (on phone as she's at uni Grin)

So good all of it, I've thoroughly enjoyed it despite the last episodes feeling rushed.

Sully was so horrible in this last season that although the last bit was a complete shock, I didn't feel sorry for him...... so many enemies surely.

Kano 🥰 though Grin

aqiarious · 06/10/2023 21:15

Thanks @SecretVictoria I must have missed what happened to him.

@foxlover47 I kept wondering where Aaron was and I was a bit annoyed that he left Stef to be drawn in to the gangs as he must have realised would happen. Jamie had such strong family values, though I think Aaron was more laid back when looking after Stef, compared to Jamie. Aaron benefited from the strict parenting style of Jamie, and Stef had the same intelligence and promise as Aaron.

Sully lost all humanity, and was brutal towards the end. Dushane could be more pragmatic and make allowances, or give second chances, and appeared to have a stronger moral code.

Though did anyone think the killing of Lizzie's husband was out of character for Dushane? In a fit of temper, was more like something Sully would do.

blissno · 06/10/2023 22:51

Yes the aaron thing didn't make sense. Also I didn't believe jaq suddenly turning against all she's known for so long, or dushane being so stupid as to not clean up properly.

Loved the whole thing but quite a few bits didn't ring true which took me out of it somewhat.

foxlover47 · 06/10/2023 22:57

@aqiarious that was my thoughts surely he would of been scared to leave steph behind especially knowing he had seen it was Sully who killed Jamie , unless he was scared to stay but even more reason to take steph ! But like it's been said maybe he hates the responsibility.

foxlover47 · 06/10/2023 22:59

@aqiarious and @blissno the mess he left behind at the crime scene was crazy to me !! I know he was losing it after realising his money was gone but he was smart enough and been around enough bloody crime scenes to know what needed to be done in a clean up
When Jaq then showed keiron what she had stolen she ultimately got him killed , he would of been better off being detained after all !!

Asiatoyork · 07/10/2023 13:42

Agree there were a lot of plot holes. The whole thing has left me sad. I don’t quite know how I still wanted Sully to be ok, but I did.

Thisisworsethananticpated · 07/10/2023 15:57

Asiatoyork

so did I , so did everyone

it’s such clever writing and casting that ee can see sully literally KILL and we manage to forgive it !
