Chat away to your heart’s content about invisible quads, terrible children’s clothing designs that are apparently groundbreaking, Stephen’s bizarre whispering and much more!

The only thing that could have added to the unintended humour was if the coffin was toppled over and I was half expecting it to happen. At least the Weatherfield gospel choir carried on singing although the vicar and one of the 6 mourners disappeared for a chat 😂

So is Steven going to continue asking everyone he comes in contact with to name their ringtone?

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 26/09/2023 08:56

The actor who pays Daniel doesn’t look very well atm. It was really obvious last night in the Rovers. I’m sure I’ve heard he has some health issues irl.

TellingBone · 26/09/2023 08:57

Oh I quite like that they're establishing the character of Glenda before giving her a huge storyline. [Unlike a certain other soap set on the right side of the Pennines] She and George have been great additions to the cast.

Agree about Izzy's over the top dramatic gestures. I've previously found her quite a believable character. Been taking acting tips from Sean perhaps. <camp head swivel and flounce>

LemonQuiche · 26/09/2023 09:40

I agree the pub-based reveal was a chronically awful scene, totally unrealistic, and really poorly acted.

AutumnCrow · 26/09/2023 10:58

Are we supposed to believe that Izzy and Gemma have somehow swapped IQs?

Izzy now is showing off a stupid ringtone, laughs wildly and inappropriately at everything that she sees or hears, and has the full dimwitted personality to match - yes, she was always annoying, but her character had some brains. Gemma now is (well, was for about ten minutes) P.A. material.

As far as credible character development goes, it's about minus 3.

Im catching up with it now and Paul bawling in the church over a woman he met 7 seconds ago is so ridiculous.

Also why does anyone care where Ryan gets his money? Honestly an d the entire street getting involved.

Louchelizard · 26/09/2023 11:55

Has Tim reported seeing Stephen prodding the canal with a stick to the police? It’s weird behaviour and I would’ve thought he’d be up for landing him in it.

Agree with this. Paul’s eulogy was ridiculously overblown and I even stifled a laugh when the sun came through the window.

If I found out a neighbour was on OnlyFans, I don’t think I’d bat an eyelid.

It's pretty daft, I agree, @Shurleyknot. He's supposed to be 31 years old. (Actor is 34.) That local newspaper story is beyond pathetic.

All the responses to everything at the moment seem a bit mad, from Paul's overwhelming grief (although the rapid onset solace in the lord was predicted on here), to Courtney and Aadi's crazy in lurve routine. At least Shelley's brother was entertaining - a good baddie iykwim.

I really wish that Glenda could be in it more, with an actual role and purpose. I think she'd grow on people.

lollipoprainbow · 26/09/2023 12:41

Shelley's brother actually looked like her.

JellyBeanFactory · 26/09/2023 13:03

I thought he looked a bit like Daisy's acid-throwing stalker (was he ever sentenced?)

The row between Carla and Ryan was quite well acted, I actually believed in the characters for a moment. And then we went back to church...

TellingBone · 26/09/2023 13:28

I took Paul's grief to be indicative of Shelley's death making his own prospective demise more 'real', if that makes sense.

I was away last week and haven't bothered to watch catch-up; has Steven really been prodding the canal?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/09/2023 13:44

Is it just me or does Shelley's Brother look the spit and double of Justin.

He poked it with a stick.

@Awwlookatmybabyspider I thought exactly the same!

I thought so too @JellyBeanFactory . I thought Carla was going to cry unscripted tears in reaction to Ryan's shouting.

Heliotroper · 26/09/2023 16:18

I was more disturbed by Carla buying a shopping trolley.

What has happened to her?

eggandonion · 26/09/2023 16:26

I was carrying a bag of shopping home early and did wonder if carla has a trolley could i have one.

strugglingwithlife · 26/09/2023 16:31

I'm so bored of Corrie, just have it on now out of habit and thinking if I stop watching it'll become good again

TellingBone · 26/09/2023 16:43

I just bought a shopping trolley yesterday #stylish 😅

The knicker factory should design 'on trend' shopping trollies, and fuck off the whole nipper snapper range nonsense.

A decent shopping trolley would feature a creative textile rather than tartan, more of a pastiche of tartan in the Vivienne Westwood style, with a little pull up ornate seat and a delightfully rococco handle.

It carries your shopping when your lodger's gone off on one again, provides temporary seating for when your work colleague has poisoned you with LSD, and offers a reassuring steadiness for your gait when you're pissed from too many large reds in the Rovers.

I have one and I'm younger than Carla. It's more modern looking than hers, though.

That scene in the pub with Tim and Stephen was ridiculous. HOW would Stephen put two and two together from the fact that Tim's phone is broken?

bizzey · 26/09/2023 16:55

Loved my tarten 4 wheel push in front trolly !!

The pull behind ones gave me really back neck ache and strain.

I have now discovered on line shopping delivery
...so said trolly now languishes in the shed untill a party up at my mum's house where we need to prep and carry all the food to !!

Lorrymum · 26/09/2023 17:16

Did Carla ever get the results of her hair sample? Must have missed an episode

ajandjjmum · 26/09/2023 17:35

She called last week to chase it up and they said it would be available soon (not sufficiently interested to remember how soon - may have been a few days/next week!)
