Fucking hellll

Stuck in bed with flu and stumbled across this trash. I love it

Vanessa is shady AF, clear narc. Xander is a product of her abuse. She can't see how poorly she's been treated. Lexi she's her and she's calling her for it 👏

Mal, I'm not sure.

Aussie is baffling me but I suspect she's a lazy lovebomber.

Tiff is a moody child and I suspect she's verbally abusive and been stringing Mildred along for years, I'm glad she's strong enough to say its too late.

Why did they all get engaged though? Yoly and Mal lasted 2 weeks. You could tell.when they came back together they were doomed. Mal wanted a hell yes, but still proposed.

Aussie is so damaged and still hidden from her family, that Sam will never have a good life with her.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 10/06/2023 11:46

No one wanted to be the one dumped on camera on international television. Vanessa tried very hard with her speech to bring Xander round.

This program helped one person and that was Xander IMO

I found the whole concept bizarre.
Do lesbian couples propose in that way? Is giving an ultimatum common?

Also in four out of five couples one had short hair wore trousers etc. The other had long hair, painted nails and wore a dress and high heels. From a distance you wouldn't know they were two women. In three of those couples it was the stereotypical feminine partner who gave the ultimatum.

marcopront · 11/06/2023 09:20

Aussie still in the closet with her family though how they don't know Aussie is gay is beyond me even with cultural considerations

Who thinks going on international TV about being gay when you haven't told your family about it is a good idea.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/06/2023 16:35

Yep, the show will definitely be on Aus/NZ Netflix as it's original content so no rights issues

No.

This is an invented reality concept by Netflix. They had already done a straight version so I guess this was about diversity.

OK I'm finally caught up.

Wow. Tiff and Mildred. Every bit as bad as one another.

Poor Xander!!

Glad to see Mal doing her thing

I always liked Mal. So calm and intelligent.

Other than Mal my opinions changed so much by the end.
Loved Rae.
Originally I liked lexi but then found her overpowering. She needed to get over Vanessa and Rae if she wanted to be with Rae.
Yoly was awful. She was hedging her bets.
Sam lovely.
Aussie nice but needs proper therapy. I'm glad she stuck up for Tiff.
Vanessa I came to like her.
Xander nice person.
I think the DV element of Mildred and Tiff's relationship should not have been brushed over. Tiff had faults but I found that shocking. They should've had helpline numbers at the end.

rumred · 13/06/2023 14:56

What am I watching? Such a bizarre program with women who are ridiculously immature. Reminds me of married at first sight.
Yet still I watch...

rumred · 13/06/2023 15:02

And what's with the 'leaning in'? I think they've all said it. Several times

CatMattress · 16/06/2023 13:37

Only on page 2 of this thread because I haven't finished watching, but I can't wait any longer to post. Watching Aussie's interactions is giving me horrendous flashbacks to being in a marriage with someone who had MH issues. Turning every conversation back to them, they're always the victim, they shut down, they don't engage. I really really really hope Aussie gets therapy and Sam leaves the relationship. Aussie needs to do some serious work before trying to be in a relationship with anybody.

Also Vaness is a horrible horrible selfish, self-absorbed person. Her constant "but I'm awesome! But I'm so hot" is making me seethe. Ugh. Run, Xander - you're lovely and she is not.

CatMattress · 16/06/2023 13:40

oooh - Vanessa's dad is on the money though! Ego, not love.

CatMattress · 17/06/2023 07:41

OK. I'm a little bit in love with Mal after that. What a cool and lovely woman

RumNotRun · 17/06/2023 09:10

Mal and Xander were my favourites. I don't normally watch this type of show but the thread here got me intrigued. I'm now hooked and have started watching the first one.

I would marry Mal!

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 17/06/2023 21:42

I loved Mal but she admitted later on (TikTok) that she had cheated on Yoly before the show. That kinda wrecked them for me.

Mal is actually non-binary.

I am late to this thread but so happy to find others who watched this!

I'm on the fence about Tiff. I found the whole dog rant shocking, but it seemed that after a short while, she and Sam were able to communicate very well and she learned a lot. They could have been a great pairing if the romantic spark was there.

I was also really shocked at the way Mildred's DV was glossed over, her admissions were horrific and it really seemed she was gaslighting Tiff.

I think in another relationship Tiff would be a good partner.

I really disliked Rae. I get that she was uncertain about her feelings towards Lexi, but in that case she should have broken up with her ages ago!

Loved Sam, she deserves better than what she gets from Aussie. I find Aussie's behavior very miniplulative.

Felt awful for Xander - it seemed she doesn't know how lovely she is.

Felt bad for Mal watching the reunion - that whole situation at the party, lying to get alone time with Xander, was totally shady.

For PP confused about the masculine and feminine styles of people on the show - that's not unusual, being a butch lesbian is definitely a thing, I thought it was lovely to have representation of butch lesbians on Netflix! Also lovely to see femme lesbians too, as there is a bit of prejudice whereby femmes are often presumed to be straight.

Noooo. Oh Mal. What an unbelievable shame. She (they?) was looking pretty perfect up till then!

I hope Xander is free of Vanessa now and knows her worth- I'd have married her in a heartbeat!
