Oh, I feel differently to the opinions on here so far so!
I could not stand Vanessa throughout the entire thing, nor in the reunion. She came into the whole thing thinking she was the catch and Xander was lucky to have her. I think she treated Xander very shabbily in all likelihood and it never crossed her mind that Xander would be in demand or be the one to pull away.
I think when Xander had the opportunity to have some distance from Vanessa, plus spend time with someone who liked her it allowed her to see how awful Vanessa was as a person.
Vanessa 100% would have had a fling with Lexi until that fell apart and in her mind that would have bee just fine.
She got a shock when she realised Xander had fallen for Yoly but I think it was too little too late and it was mostly acting on her behalf - crocodile tears,
I feel Xander did fall for Yoly and would have pursued that except she got played.
Yoly, what a mess. She is attention hungry. I couldn't really see the connection between her and Mal. They didn't seem like a well suited couple so I'm not sure why Yoly chose her except maybe 'doing the expected / right thing'? The proposal was so dead - no sense of joy or excitement etc so I wasn't a bit surprised they'd split by the reunion.
Rae was sweet but so indecisive and a little bit dim I felt. She was no match for Lexi who would walk all over her! Lexi has the potential to domineer and be a bit of a bully in relationships - her way or the high way etc. Plus having agreed to participate in the experiment and all that it might entail her immaturity around Rae and Vanessa's 'encounter' was a tell tale sign that she's not as together as she likes to portray. She wanted total control over every aspect of the relationship down to her father making the rings and her mother planning the wedding - suffocating - there's no way I could live like that!
Tiff & Mildred, what a disaster. They should never have been in a relationship in the first place. I couldn't stand Mildred. She set my teeth on edge. Tiff was emotionally ill-equipped to handle her and her frustrations boiled over again and again. They are 100% better off without each other.
I think Tiff and Sam might have made a nice couple.
Sam and Aussie - Sam is a 'fixer' and loves to think people need her and that she is the only one who can understand or help them. She seems to be addicted to that role, going back again and again to Aussie. She is a very calm and sweet person and I was glad that was finding ways to speak up and draw some boundaries.
Aussie is super damaged and really urgently needs professional help to allow her to process the trauma from her upbringing and I felt the biggest fear she has is being seen as a failure as a person by her family because she is gay and that is unacceptable in her family dynamic. She has to address this before she can move on and get married etc. I can't see Sam lasting the distance there.
