A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese drama as & when.

The previous thread is here but our list is cumulative so includes recommendations and favourites from all previous threads. Shows marked with a star are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, its important to note most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. I'm also looking forward to DP2

I'm mostly looking forward to Sweet Home 2 but I don't think that's coming until the autumn, so I'll be making do with Uncanny Counter 2 in the meantime.

I'm also curious about Rowoon's new drama Destined With You which is coming in August. There's not much available about the plot yet, just something about a 300 year old book and a curse, but it's from the same writer as 100 Days My Prince so I'm quite hopeful.

As for Ahn Hyo-seop, he's very lovely, but I think I could live without him in my manhwa harem. I'd probably fight you all for Kim Min-jae, though, with his sexy, deep voice and killer smile. Not that I've seen much of his smile so far in DR3. Eun-tak really needs to give his head a wobble, the way things are going with Ah-reum atm.

After much contemplation, I have decided I would fight for KWB and also Kim Young-kwang : I suffered through all of D-Day for KYK and even (the shame) fancied him as creepy murderer in Somebody, so I think I could employ a few hard hitting tactics like losing my shoe on a stony path so he could retrieve it for me and see my stockinged foot and ankle 😂 < swishes hanbok and wiggles eyebrows suggestively >

Between work, house moves and holiday planning I've no brain power for K-dramas at the moment...

A squishy C-drama is very much needed. Never did finish Meet Yourself...

Looking forward to starting Heartbeat when I get home, and also haven't yet begun SYIMNL so will have a good few episodes to binge when I am back to normal life.
