Who will go with them? Is there time for new bombshells? 12 days to go. Bring it.

And Sammie's was just as clear, and just as valid. And he didn't challenge it when she stated that he did say it. And he could have used that opportunity to clarify. But he didn't, he wriggled and changed tack. He was floundering and flip-flopping.

Samie OTOH was clear, concise and not letting herself be bamboozled.

She wasn’t and while she may be proud of herself and may think she was the winner of the conversation, it has clearly back fired on public perception. If Ron’s game plan is not to be the drama at the end he’s achieving the desired results as Sammie and a few of the others are being the drama. Ron stated nothing that all of the contestants know, they are all gameplayers or why be in a game show. You’ve more chance of finding love on tinder than love island

StripeyNighty · 07/03/2023 11:27

Samie’s been snakey as hell.

She heard what she wanted to hear in that conversation with Ron, and then went around gleefully telling people he was a game player.

She’s not too dense to realise she’s created this drama as a PP suggested, she just won’t admit to it to Ron/ the rest of us. She’s playing dumb with the whole ‘ I can’t influence what 9 other people think’ card….really, love, because you’ve had a bloody good go! I think she did the ‘breakfast’ for Lana because she knows Lana is popular with the public and her actions had upset her, which she knew would look bad for her and Tom.

CellophaneFlower · 07/03/2023 11:28

I reckon Tom could find love with a cardboard box if he deemed it attractive enough.

Starflecked · 07/03/2023 11:30

She knew what she was doing. If she had genuine concerns he was playing a game following what he said the one and only person she should have spoken to was Lana. As is she saw the chance to misinterpret what was said for her own ends, but it's backfired.

MyopicBunny · 07/03/2023 11:30

The bookies now say that Tom and Samie have dropped from favourites to win to 3rd in 24 hours.

I think his relationship with Samie is completely superficial. He seems to have far more to say about Claudia and Lana in terms of compliments.

Rollergirl11 · 07/03/2023 11:33

Ron however did not challenge her - he did not state that he didn't say it, he changed tack. So I think he has been spouting off in that way.

He did challenge her and said that she knew the context in which he had said it and that’s why he wanted her to go and speak to everyone because she was the one that had planted the idea. Samie then said she can’t influence what people think which is a load of bullshit because that’s exactly what she did in the first place! I think Ron just got frustrated with her and realised he wasn’t getting anywhere.

Yes Ron said the words. But Samie failed to relay that he also said he could understand why people might thing that about them but they weren’t doing that. She omitted crucial details that provided the context.

Mouldyfoodhelp · 07/03/2023 11:34

It's a positive that Samie changed the context of a conversation to make someone look bad and didn't get floundered when questioned? To me it just proves its a normal thing for her.

I also think it's harder to keep track of the conversation when you know what you said, you know what's been told back to you isn't 100% what you said but similar to disentangle it and be concise when you're the accused.

I don't really see how you can objectively be Pro Samie in this in an honest way unless you're just staunchly Anti Ron.

It really is and it's horrible that a person can be that shallow. Obviously most people are physically attracted first, but her looks are the only thing he goes on about and he seems to treat her as a prize.

MyopicBunny · 07/03/2023 11:39

Yeah, I mean he's always been like that - he was like it with Zara and Olivia and even Lydia and just randomly kissing people.

vjg13 · 07/03/2023 11:41

@MyopicBunny I still think Tom and Samie have a good chance of winning though unfortunately.

Rollergirl11 · 07/03/2023 11:46

Just as an aside, I watched the footage of Samie talking to others about Ron’s comments and it’s interesting how quiet Jessie is when Samie is talking. Because of course that whole scenario described by Ron could also be attributed to Will and Jessie. And it’s what others have also accused Jessie of literally less than a week ago. You
would have thought Jessie could empathise with Ron having just had the whole villa gang up on her too. All the islanders this year are so spectacularly hypocritical!

Out of sight, out of mind

Ron probably thought "never argue with a fool - onlookers may not be able to tell the difference." 😃 Also, Samie is quite aggressive and combative in her manner. I wouldn't want to argue with her either.

I so hope this is true! They certainly lost my vote (and it went to Ron&Lana which is something I never thought I'd say)!

Who is bookies' favourite to win?

I voted for them previously and last night Kai and Sanam and I'm not overly fussed about them either. They just seem the least problematic

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 07/03/2023 12:05

Seems to be

Kai and Sanam
Ron and Lana
Will and Jessie
Tom and Sammie
Shaq and Tanya
Casey and Rosie

Kai and Sanam and Ron and Lana not a lot in it

Boulshired · 07/03/2023 12:07

Instagram has screwed the bookies this year as there are so few followers. Will and especially Jessie have followers prior to love island. Whereas Sanam and Kai have very few (love island’s standard) but were not in the bottom four. There is much more guess work

TellingBone · 07/03/2023 12:07

I haven't forgotten that Ron thought it was perfectly fine to effectively get with Lana and then expect her to sit patiently in a corner while he checked out if there was anyone better around.

I haven't forgotten either. He does seem very logical about everything he does though. It wouldn't surprise me if he'd had a mental spreadsheet of the women in his head. He didn't handle that in the best way, but perhaps he really did want to be sure before he committed.

NadjasNightclub · 07/03/2023 12:13

I think this is the issue here...Samie has taken it how many on here have, when actually he said something completely different

Ron: when I've been a viewer at home, I've thought that the couples who have drama, sort it out, then cruise to the end ARE playing a game. So since that's what Lana and I have done, I can see how we may have won the public vote in that category. However, its absolutely not the case.

Samie heard: I've thought the couples who do that AREN'T seen as playing a game, so I've used that tactic to try and win.

Obviously all paraphrased, but she got completely the wrong end of the stick and has caused loads of drama and upset for no reason. One conversation with him to clarify wouod have down the trick, but this isn't the first (or second, third or fourth) time she's gone running off to spread gossip around so I don't know why anyone's surprised.

Boulshired · 07/03/2023 12:17

Even if Sammie (and Rosie) got the wrong end of the stick that is still not the same as then telling anyone who will listen the conversation. That is what got Sammie and Rosie in trouble

Obviously it hasn’t helped Ron that there were two problematic conversations that he was involved in in quick succession that the other party have put their own slant on and ran with.

But if we're going down that road.. what about Tom?!? He has had way more action in the villa than Ron
