Plus earlier in the show there was a reminder that he's a teacher and she's something like a schools-based careers adviser (so you might end up seeing both at parents evening)

I really wish they wouldn't throw the 'love' word around...they don't 'love' these people at all, they barely know them....yes, I know they are around them 24/7 but it's such a fake environment. They are going to always be aware that cameras are on them (even when they are asleep) so none of the conversations they have are natural, none of the situations are natural.

Saying that being boy/girlfriend is more important just shows how devalued the 'love' word is in there. It's stupid.

Re changes to the format.

In week 1, they're all single, and they get to know each other for a day or two, then they all secretly choose someone. If there are any matches, then they're automatically made a couple.

Agreed. It's a holiday romance, really. They can be ridiculously intense with immense feelings, but it's not love as it's not real life.

Improvements …

Not seeing them eat sit down meals all together makes the whole thing feel insubstantial and arbitrary. I know (or at least I’ve read) this is so the producers can control the pace of conversations - but it’s rubbish.

I would really love to see them playing pool or chess or sitting up all night in dressing gowns at a poker table. Trivial Pursuit or some other general knowledge games would be great.

It’s a real shame they’re tied into all the product placement - because surely no one would go all the way to a place like that and spend hours every day putting on and taking off make up.

I agree it would be better to get rid of all the pathetically cringey and un-21st century elements.

Mainly I’d like to see them actually interacting with the country they’re in. Properly, not a bench and a bottle of alcohol-free fizz in a cleared field. At the moment they might as well be in Cardiff.

And it would be brilliant if a few of the contestants rebelled against the script and said something natural on-screen - which wasn’t immediately edited out.
