Happy Valley - jump right in or start from season 1

I keep seeing all the good reviews of the latest season.
Do I need to go back to season 1 before watching?

Thank you, I’ll put my big girl pants on then and keep going. From what I’ve seen so far, the writing and cast are very good indeed.

OMG I moved it! I'd never watched it until nearly a fortnight ago. The day after grand finale, which everyone was talking about? I was off sick for the first time in over a decade. I thought I'd watch a bit of the first series to see what all the fuss was about. I ended up bingeing all 3 series in 5 days. I don't live far from the Calder Valley, I liked spotting places - Leeds and Huddersfield featured too (I used to go to Baby Massage in the mill which was Nevison's office).

It's set in Hebden Bridge (Catherine's house is there) but filmed all over the Calder Valley and elsewhere.

"I moved" should be "I loved".
