A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese drama as & when.

Shows marked with an asterisk are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, its important to note most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. Duc,I'm watching Trolley and bingeing The Glory. As you can see, I like the darker, grittier stuff but need to cleanse afterwards with something lighter.

I've finally started Goblin. Two episodes in and it's not grabbing me at all, seems quite silly with little happening, I know this is a classic so I guess I should give it another episode ..

I found the things I loved about Goblin came a bit later - the relationship between Goblin and Ji Eun Tak starts off a bit silly but really develops, and then the relationship between Goblin and Reaper is fantastic.

You must continue.

Definitely continue Aesops it is worth it, there's a lot to love about it, not just the main relationship.

DH and I have just finished Somebody, I thought it was great, not the ending I was anticipating which was pretty brutal! Need another gritty one to follow that up with.

Just finished The Glory , Song Hye-kyo's latest drama and can confirm that it is very good. It's 15+ rating is deserved. Her cool, detached style of acting is perfectly suited to this dark revenge thriller. Series 2 drops in March next year.
