A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese drama as & when.

Shows marked with an asterisk are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, its important to note most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. What’s Wrong With Your Online Life? (manhwa) is making me laugh. ML and FL both frequent a talkboard incognito where they spar aplenty. I’m getting serious Her Private Life fan site flashbacks and its making me laugh. So much mayhem at the meet up.

Just noticed a Kdrama called Monstrous is on Sky sciFi. Good cast!!

I’m all caught up with What’s Wrong With Your Online Life? so have moved onto Something Between Us, another decent Bato gluten-free manhwa. It’s about a (maybe?) rekindled past love, after a break of 9 years. I’m not all that far in yet so I can’t vouch for how the story unfolds but I love the artwork and it’s well written.

Annoyingly we don’t have the Sky channels any more. Please let us know if it’s worth seeking out at Olga’s.

@Bea Reborn rich was very good! I liked the ending too. The plot twists were always good and surprising.

As we approach the new year, I've started talking about setting some itineraries for our Japan trip. DH is already making noises about "sure we can just chill some of the time" and "we don't need 9am starts".

I anticipate the "have you checked our passports?" and "what about travel insurance?" questions are looming. Despite the fact that I have DONE ALL THAT and TOLD HIM ALREADY.
