black cat adore this song so although it hinges on one line (haunted by the ghost of you) it worked for me Chucky

Okay, enough faffing, have a pumpkin patch to get to shoot me now

Did anyone see Giovanni and Anton are doing a BBC show together, where they travel to Sicily ? Airs next year and I suspect it'll be great fun.

No, I didn't know! Sounds like a hoot. Sort of Gone Fishing with dancers.

It was beyond me, how Ballroom Blitz was supposed to be the theme tune for the black and white Come Dancing? It just felt totally incongruous!

And everyone else saying some weren't theme tunes. It wasn't theme tunes. It was associated music to celebrate different parts of bbc programming over the 100 years. Some were theme tunes but there was no obligation for them all to be that.

SolInvictus · 26/10/2022 23:13

The thing that tickled me about the Come Dancing "tribute" was Kym sitting there going "it was the Strictly of its day then really wasn't it!"
Like in some bizarre timeslip, SCD was the original and CD some copy.
I'm sure Strictly's/Adele's/Flashdance's/Victoria Wood's number 1 fan would have put her straight!
I quite liked some of the music. Felt more traditional and helped concentrate more on the dance. They just need to switch the lights on now and stop it with the computer generated platypuses etc and this old gimmer will be happy!

Agree that Hamza has proved larger people can definitely dance so that makes Jayde's over marking even more ridiculous 🙄

Yes! Hamza floats beautifully and I never actually think about his size. Jayde was very heavy footed and really didn't inspire me.
I actually think the upvoting by the judges for her meant a huge backlash from the public - I think we all felt she was over marked and this was the result.
Strictly producers if you're reading this, take note - we don't like it when the show has blatant favourites.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 26/10/2022 23:41

Yes I thought that was weird too @SolInvictus - Strictly is the reboot, it's the other way round!

I won’t do it, can’t do it
I cannot get the rhythm right
Feet trailing, arms flailing
Ye really cannae polish shite
I’m lumpen, a bit stumpen
But you can get to feck with all of that nose bumpen
Get to it, let’s not do it to- naaaaaaiiiiiiiight.

Victoria would approve!

Jayde would have been a lot more popular if the judges hadn't showed her such obvious favouritism.

Exactly!

I'm not supporting Ellie because she's surmounting the difficulties of dancing with dwarfism, but because I love her partnership with Nikita, I like his choreography, and she's surprising me by not having that problem that most of the younger sportspeople have on the show, of being wooden and self-conscious performers. I like her confidence and feel for the dance styles.

I totally agree with all of this.

Me 3. Ellie S looks like she is having a blast, Nikita is doing a fab job and they have great chemistry.

I agree about Ellie S and Nikita being a great partnership, they were both so funny on ITT yesterday. He seems to be so fond of her, their dancing has been fantastic.

I've got to admit, I fancy Kai quite a bit less after the golf revelation. (Maybe 96%, instead of 100%.). Does he not know that to fulfil our Catherine Cookson fantasies he needs to play cricket for the Hexington Colliery 1st XI, whereupon he is blinded by a ball drunkenly thrown by Roderick, the wastrel son of the pit owner, and then finds love after being taught braille by Susan, the governess of Roderick's blind half-sister, who is valiantly resisting sexual blackmail by her employer's scoundrel son upon his discovery that her mother was a dockside prostitute? How can he not know this?

I know - it's so obvious.

I bet he doesn't even have tripe butties in his baitbox, either.

Do we think that Kai knows his way around a power drill and could fit a new kitchen without breaking a sweat whilst downing a pint of heavy and a chip butty? Or is that just me?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/10/2022 13:39

I'm fairly sure last year we agreed that a big part of what made him attractive was he looked like he could put a shelf up for you, before whisking you off dancing and then "finish the night by shagging you senseless" I think was the description. Grin
