The thing that stood out for me in the meet the parents ep was the swiftness with which Zanab's stepmum swooped onto Cole with that prayer! There was no second's pause for a gearchange between a moment of conversation and bam! I'm a'prayin' on y'all.

I don't think zanab is looking for faults, I think she's a fairly standard 30 year old looking at a guy who is living like an 18 year old and annoyed by the way he is making her feel unattractive

I don't think the praying was out of place. He's a Baptist preacher's son. I think under the circumstances it's exactly what you'd expect two very religious people to do in a moment of crisis

why does Cole act like Zanab is hideous - always commenting on how surprised she is when she looks good.

I hope that Zanab and Nancy do a Deepti this year - that was some EPIC television, and totally unexpected

She knew his age before she said yes. She hadn't seen his dive when she started picking on him, replying in a snippy voice, and being a general fun-sponge while they were playing pingpong and giant chess etc on their retreat holiday.

I am not surprised by the praying - I have relatives who do the same - but by the manner in which she swooped, literally, into it and onto him!

I would love to hear Matt's ex's side of the story, if he behaves like that on camera, what is he like behind closed doors? Unfortunately, Colleen is perfect for him because she is vulnerable and desperate.

Zanab is really insecure. I don't see how Cole can say that Colleen is his type physically but Zanab isn't. Actually, that's disingenuous, we probably all know the reason.

Bartise is an absolute prick. He thinks he could cope with the challenges of raising a disabled child? Could he fuck! And, while discussing abortion, he says repeatedly 'I couldn't do it.' Does he realise he'll never be pregnant? Why doesn't Nancy sack him off for their wildly opposing viewpoints alone? I don't think I would be too upset over someone who I've known a matter of weeks. Also, Bartise is not hot, he's dull.

Brennan seems too sweet for someone who warned him how 'toxic' she is.

I actually like Raven and SK even though I kind of think they are all fame hungry attention seekers.

the point is bartise only thinks women who have a very trained body type like Raven’s, are valid and attractive. I’m not going to get into any “gotcha” style statements and detail the thread. But women do carry more body fat than men because of our hormones unless we train it away, which comes with a separate set of issues. Individual mileage may vary!

There’s a lot of pressure on women to look a certain way and I’m heartbroken that Nancy is being made to feel like she’s not as beautiful as she is by a shallow brat!

Just caught up on the last episode. Colleen needs to get FAR away from Matt. He’s not ready to get married when he’s so controlling and jealous.

Soooooo many of these people have shocking self esteem and it causes so many issues. Zanab is gorgeous but her insecurity will be her downfall. Raven is also crippled by self esteem issues and comes across as so rude and weird, but I was thrilled when she knocked bastiste down. SK is delightful. Colleen is fake as hell and says “like” too much.

only on ep 2 and am already pissed off with how little time in the pods we are seeing. Seasons 1 and 2 gave us more, seeing how the relationships build up etc, before the reveal.

Then how his eyes lit up when Nancy said how 'they' would earn $200k as finances would be joint when they were married and he suddenly seemed to be ok with her ex being her business partner

And to bring up the abortion conversation in front of his family seemed like an opportunity to hang up on her tbh. I'm glad she stuck to her guns and hope she keeps her head screwed on and says No.

And Matt is just an abusive twat. Poor Colleen just seems smitten!

I've just caught up with it all.

Regarding the abortion conversation, I find it difficult to respect the view of someone so anti abortion when they then have caveats such as, "you get one pass of it's a mistake when you're young" or "if it's rape it's different". Babies conceived in those situations are worth less to him somehow? So I do believe his views are immature and ill thought out. And, I'm sorry, but for his sister to cry at the mere mention of abortion is odd. Someone choosing to have an abortion literally has no impact on her.

Nancy's lovely and seems far too good for Bartise.

Agree.. the sister crying at the concept of abortion..I thought she was going to disclose some personal experience of having a disabled child the way she reacted, it was weird.

Matt seemed OK to start with but his emotional reaction to Colleen going to a club was concerning. In fact, the most impressed I've been with Bastise was when he was talking him down.

Zanab is a beautiful successful woman and needs to move on. The most interested Bastise was in her was when she spoke about a joint $200-300 earing capacity. Then his eyes lit up.

Colleen's only in it for a social media career.

SK is the most decent balanced person and very handsome. He's not at the stage in life to be ready to marry but once he completes his studies and gets on his path will be head and shoulders above all of the men.

What a season... I don't think there will be any long lasting marriages here though! Batiste is a wrong'un and just not ready for marriage at all. I married DH when he was 22 and we're getting on for 20 years now so it's not just about age, it's about maturity and certainty, which these mid-twenties guys do not have. Nancy in particular seems very much to want to have kids soon... She's not going to get them from Batiste with $ in his eyes! I was very suspicious about Raven, it's not clear what her intentions were and when meeting SK she didn't seem at all enamoured with him. I feel sorry for Matt, I don't think he's worked through the betrayal by his wife yet to a point where he could trust Colleen knowing that Cole likes her.
