Watching the meet up now and now feeling it is more contrived than normal.
We saw even less of the daters than usual in the pods. The only couples they have focused on are ones that are interlinked. Apart from Alexa who is clearly there as their so called “body diversity” person.
Wish they would have focused on some of the other matches. They have clearly picked these for the drama.

No he was totally putting the drops in so it looked like he was upset - he kept saying “I guess this would be a good time for this. Is it ok that I’m doing this” etc and the camera man was saying “sure if you have sore eyes” and stuff to try and make out he didn’t know it was all
bullshit, but it definitely was!

Letting the drops run down his face and sniffing etc. I was so outraged I recorded it to show DD

Was anyone else shocked at Alexa saying that her and her family would tell children to ‘stop being such a pussy’ because they’re ‘crazy Israelis’?

Why do Americans do that BTW? Steep so much if their identity in stereotypes of the nationality of their ancestors? I notice it a lot with US reality shows - “I am loud because I’m Italian” etc. Even though they’re mostly 4th generation ‘Italian’. It seems to me they use their heritage (despite the fact very few have been outside their own state let alone to their alleged country) as an excuse to behave like dicks.

It pissed me off because DH is half Israeli . Literally no one in his family has ever described anything like being ‘crazy Israelis’ and they certainly wouldn’t dream of calling a child a pussy. Brits have such a different attitude to Americans - I don’t think DH told me that he was half Israeli until about six months into our relationship I just thought he tanned really well 🤣

I’ve never met an American there always X-American. Irish American, Italian American etc. I just say I am whatever I was born eg English, Scottish Jamaican, Australian, I wouldn’t say I was Australian Irish if I was born in Ireland to an Irish mother with a father who relocated to Ireland from Australia. It does seem to be a specifically American thing.

Yes! I’m on a Derry Girls fan group that’s mostly made up of American fans who excitedly tell everyone they’re ‘Irish too’ 😂 their names are things like Cole and Chad and they are wearing Maga hats and US flag tops in their profile pictures 🤣 but their great great grandma was from County Cork so they really believe their Irish and have, on occasion, tried to school actual Irish people about Irish culture

DH’s dad is Israeli, came over to the UK as a toddler and has never been back to Israel. He married an Irish woman living in the UK. DH and his siblings are born and bred in England. They’ve also never been to Israel and only visited Ireland a few times. If DH ever said to his friends he’s ‘Irish Israeli’ he’d get the piss absolutely ripped out of him 🤣

I remember when I first went travelling at met Americans who would do this. The first time, someone said their parents were Swedish and Italian, we innocently replied 'oh what language do they speak to each other in?', assuming that the parents were, y'know... Swedish and Italian 😂

The first time Bartise implied he was amazingly attractive I thought it was just an error. Then he kept saying it and I released he really does thing he's amazing. Nancy deserves better, she is beautiful and seems a genuine person.

I am so, so jealous you get to experience S1 for the first time! It’s a great season with lots of explosive material and because it was the first season and no one knew how well it would do, the contestants seem more genuine.

Is the Japanese one good?

I watched LIB Brazil, which was actually quite hard to follow as the subtitles were dodgy as hell and only made sense maybe half the time. However it was otherwise a great series. Was interesting to see the culture clashes, there was so much misogyny in the Brazil series and one woman who called it out was pegged as a loon.

One of my favourite bits from LIB Brazil is a couple who got engaged at the end of episode 1 and were literally hugging the little blue wall between them, saying they love each other so much and will always be so kind and loving to each other and they cannot imagine not loving each other…cut to a “What to expect this season” preview and the first clip is them crying and arguing 😂😂

I mean are these contestants really that deluded to think they’ll never ever get a bump on the road?! How do they fall in love in 0.4 seconds?

I must be the only person who likes Cole 😬 he’s just coming across as trying too hard, I don’t think he could be that zany 100% of the time.

I liked how respectful he was with Colleen about why he wasn’t pursuing their relationship any further in the pods.

Zanab seems like a lovely person, but she is just too mature for his shit, it’ll never work.

I loved the Japanese version. I think that, or US season 1 are my favourites. The Brazilian one I found quite odd. You couldn't get more different behaviours in the pods between the Japanese and Brazilian ones - the former were like job interviews at times taking detailed notes the latter seemingly declared their love after very brief superficial chats

Finding this series hard due to the amount of unnecessary 'like' uttered in every single sentence by participants.

I'm all caught up!! Enjoying it of course but I'd forgotten how toe-curling it is! The emphatic I Love Yous in the space of 5 mins?! Wonder what the actual time span/date count is?

Colleen and Matt - going nowhere, she was just desperate to pair off. He can't believe his luck and after 2 rejections she's absolutely loving that upper hand.

Raven and sk- Raven is so unlikable, such a poser. SK seems sincere so will get disillusioned I think.

Cole and Zaineb - complete mismatch you could see a mile off. Agreed he is the double of Barnett but an incredibly camp version!

Nancy and B (forget the name) - he seemed great, disappointing his reaction re Raven. Surprised Nancy just sat there listening to his monologue framed as "honesty". Should have told him to piss right off, she's way too hot to listen to that! Whatever happens Andrew and his "transcendental sex" isn't the answer 🤢😂

Alexa and (sorry forgot name) I just see Khloe Kardashian! I think she'll eat him up and spit him out. Or they might be yin and yang? Her family look like hard work.

Based on preview it looks like only 3 couples make it as far as the wedding day?

Oh, I forgot about Nancy! I like Nancy, as well as Cole. That's two hopeless people to "root" for... If I were Nancy I would shave Bartise's hair off as he slept. It drives me mad. I'd do it with his permission, if he hadn't banged on about being such a headturner, and him and Raven being the people others wanted.

Oh the way Bartise sweet talked going on about how he was spending the rest of his life with Nancy!! Then next minute he’s saying he finds someone more attractive and he’s just being honest! Ugghh!!!

I know, it’s obviously not the show for him if a pretty face and good body can turn his head so easily. Poor Nancy. She picked a right pair of duds didn’t she (not sure non ejaculating Andrew is much better than Bartise)

There is no denying that Alexa is 'plus size,' I'd say Nancy is too tbh. She's also far out of Bartise's 'league.'

This is quite interesting - it's got a little bit from Vanessa Lachey basically saying that usually the couples both know before the wedding day if they are going to say yes/no - this is fairly obvious because no one ever usually looks completely shocked that they've been ditched at the alter (besides Giannina).

I can't wait to find out who the shocker is in this series!!
