I feel so sorry for Matt I don’t know why 😢

I do, too. I know he struggles with massive anxiety. I've seen him live. He can dance. He's just a little bit broken for many reasons. He was so brave to go on here and my heart breaks for him.

He was also very gracious. I so hope it can be a new beginning for him.

Well done Matt. You did your Mum proud.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 16/10/2022 19:59

Much nicer now they can do the big cuddle. Smile It was a bit sad during covid!

He mentioned his late sister and mum and he has Poland disease too
Obviously a lot on his plate
I quite liked him.
Dh is gutted that Nadia has gone too :(

Aquarius1234 · 16/10/2022 20:00

Not sure why they stopped the chatting bit at the end.

SequinsandStilettos · 16/10/2022 20:00

Matt was very gracious.
Nadiya gets to shag Kai more often at least. That's a boner bonus.
I liked Matt. Alot more serious and less Matt-isms and ego than in the documentary. I suspect Nadiya is right in what she says about getting to know him better than we do.

Stressybetty · 16/10/2022 20:00

Aw bless him

Vapeyvapevape · 16/10/2022 20:00

That was the most genuine goodbye speech I've seen on Strictly.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 16/10/2022 20:01

Thought Matt came across quite well at the end. Maybe he can relax a bit without the pressure of dancing.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 16/10/2022 20:01

I want to give Matt a big hug

Clawdy · 16/10/2022 20:01

My sister has worked with Kym, and said she was lovely, very kind and warm.

ShakeYourFeathers · 16/10/2022 20:02

She wasn't - it was pretty obvious she was going to go through. Just because she wasn't effusive in her thanks doesn't make her smug. It was more the smirk on her face more than anything

ilovebrie8 · 16/10/2022 20:02

Aw bless Matt and gutted he’s out, he’s lovely and was improving! Think he’s a lot to deal with...nadiya seems lovely with him too ...shame he’s gone 😞

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 16/10/2022 19:58

Who is he and what's his story?

Matt Goss? One half of the identical twins in Bros who were a massively successful boy band in the UK in the mid 80s to early 90s. They sparked a craze for wearing Grolsch bottle caps on your shoes. They were never my cup of tea tbh. I was an A-ha and Duran Duran fan.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 16/10/2022 20:02

EdieLedwell · 16/10/2022 19:57

The judges seem like they're being really careful with him too. He so fragile

Craig wasn't very careful with him yesterday, giving him a 3 when he'd obviously improved from last week. I thought that was unnecessarily harsh.

embolass · 16/10/2022 20:03

I was laughing at Matt at the start, thought he was so full of himself, but amazingly I totally warmed to him and had a tear listening to his farewell

Butterflyfluff · 16/10/2022 20:03

Matt is clearly a very troubled soul - he seemed relived at the very end

I wonder why he put himself through this

Now we need Jayde out - she’s doing my head it - massively overmarked every week

GuyMontag · 16/10/2022 20:03

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 16/10/2022 19:58

Who is he and what's his story?

He was in teen hunk band Bros in the 80s, the unhappy and unresolved legacy of that time permeates his personal life and he has spent the last quarter century in the strange musical twilight hinterland of US residencies. Have a look at the documentary When The Cheering Stops - it's quite bleak.

Tabbouleh · 16/10/2022 20:04

I want Ellie T to step up and stop feuding with wardrobe next week:)
Also more serious Tony ( though I also like comedy Tony)
A nice cheery Charleston or jive from Fleur
Some animation from James
Molly to just not talk
No emotional journeys or feelings or causes ( fat chance)

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 16/10/2022 20:04

I'm a bit surprised there weren't more Bros fans voting actually.

I think maybe in another couple of weeks he might have relaxed a bit more.

Says what I wanted to.

I’d have rather seen the nose boppers go.

EsmaCannonball · 16/10/2022 20:04

I know I've taken the piss out of BBC Week but a dance to the theme tune to Grandstand is inordinately exciting me. That is one of the best theme tunes.

I preferred Matt to Kym. She was technically better but he captured the feel of that dance more. I get the impression Matt was doing this because he needed the exposure, found that he also needed public validation, wasn't particularly enjoying it but wanted to be able to enjoy it. Kym, on the other hand, gives the impression that she's here only because of some contractual obligation related to Waterloo Road, is doing the minimum amount required and doing it resentfully.

ilovesooty · 16/10/2022 20:04

I think Matt went out on a high and what Anton said to him was lovely.

LINABE · 16/10/2022 20:05

Vapeyvapevape · 16/10/2022 20:00

That was the most genuine goodbye speech I've seen on Strictly.

Agree. I hope he will be alright in the future.

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2022 20:05

Kym is the type of lady I used to actively avoid in the school playground!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 16/10/2022 20:05

At least they didn't make Molly sing this week! She seems nice and is a good singer, but it was a bit like "This is Molly, remember her? She's famous for being a singer."
