Kym reminds me of carol vorderman

FartOutLoudDay · 15/10/2022 21:12

Tyler was better than Diane in that dance.

Tabbouleh · 15/10/2022 21:17

Watched Gorkha's comment back. Talk about conceited mansplaining. Helen didn't want the pity vote but he thrust it on her. Grrr....

Trouble is, they all had a sob story tonight so that was Helen's whether she wanted it or not.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 15/10/2022 21:03

It shouldn't matter how they voted previously - they're meant to vote only on how they dance in the dance-off, so the previous performances should be irrelevant.

But if the performances are the same second time round?isnt that usually the case. Just worrying for Ellie S as well and Helen, if they are in the DO against Jayde or James

PrincessScarlett · 15/10/2022 21:20

FartOutLoudDay · 15/10/2022 21:01

So agree about Jayde as well! Went from sob story to “yay!” at her score so felt quite manipulative which may be uncharitable of me.

I noticed that. Crying her eyes out and then jumping with joy at her score. Felt a bit manipulative to me.

CoffeeThisInstant · 15/10/2022 21:20

Suspect it could be Matt and Ellie S in the dance off.

the80sweregreat · 15/10/2022 21:21

Jayda knows she won't win!
Making the most of it ..

Topgub · 15/10/2022 21:24

Just watching now!

Very sweet moment for Anton celebrating his win!

PrincessScarlett · 15/10/2022 21:25

Dianne and Tyler's street dance seemed a bit off to me. Street dance is not what Strictly is about. However, when Karen and Jamie Lang did their couples choice street dance that was impressive (and I hated Jamie!).

JemimaTab · 15/10/2022 21:25

I feel that the producers/judges are pushing Jayde a bit, like hers is some kind of groundbreaking partnership. But why, I’m not sure. Do they think we “ought” to have a same-sex couple win this year? I don’t know. They’ve consistently overmarked her. I find it odd.

Sunbird24 · 15/10/2022 21:29

The problem is that consistent over-marking from the judges leads to pushback from the public…

EvilRingahBitch · 15/10/2022 21:31

Just got back late so watched in catch-up.

Not previously been enthused by Helen but I loved those faces she pulled when Gorka did the cringy "you may not feel you're beautiful but we do, even if your cheating ex is about to have a baby with his new squeeze, so you just need to believe in yourself!" speech. Those are exactly the faces that I'd have pulled in her position, and she is now my relatable fave.

Hamza was AMAZING. I think that Tyler lost out by comparison, because he had great lifts and tricks held together by some fairly lacklustre dancing, while Hamza had great lifts and tricks showcased within some really high quality salsa dancing. It reminded me of John Barnes' authentic club-style salsa which came out of nowhere and sadly doesn't seem to be available on YouTube.

Lovely to see Katya supporting Tony in his aim to do a serious dance (albeit with tricksy lifts, because she's Katya). I adore her.

Johannes looked amazing in those trousers. Ellie T clearly has no personal vanity at all, because if anyone had tried to make me wear that dress for a Viennese Waltz when it wasn't even a theme week I'd have run amok in Wardrobe with a pair of pinking shears.

I feel that it was in bad taste for James to even attempt a QS to Don't Get Me Wrong, and was profoundly offended by his desecration of the memory of my favourite ever Strictly ballroom dance. He deserves to get kicked out for the sheer effrontery of it but sadly won't.

awaynboilyurheid · 15/10/2022 21:32

Thought Jade overmarked and it was very sad but too much focus on that story, felt a bit X factor ish, and yes the sudden change to shouting yay and smiling seemed a bit off. I just thought last week she was awful couldn’t get up from the floor and was stompy and flat footed so can’t get over her overmarking.
Loved Hamza and Jowita is just phenomenal, felt sorry for Will he was clearly unwell and looked like he should be in bed instead of the dance floor.
Katya is so clever with her choreography thought Tony did much better we were shouting he’s actually dancing!

the80sweregreat · 15/10/2022 21:33

Gorka was out of order there.
I'd hate it too.

EvilRingahBitch · 15/10/2022 21:34

And I forgot to say how great Fleur and Mollie were.

Mesmerising Cha Chas are rare beasts. Carlos was dancing his little socks off but wasn't overshadowing her.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 15/10/2022 21:35

Louisa Lytton was robbed that year, due to the persistent favouritism of Emma Bunton. That said, the favouritism led to amazing spat between Craig and Brendan on ITT that year if anyone remembers.

Blip · 15/10/2022 21:35

Jayde needs to go.
Really clumpy and heavy on her feet, a very poor quality dance. Yes it's sad that she has experienced the loss of her sister. Does that make her a good dancer though? Seemingly not.
Her scores were just not appropriate and I feel sorry for the dancers who were marked more harshly.

Figgygal · 15/10/2022 21:35

Jayde or Helen I wouldnt miss
Voted Hamza though dont think he needed it
Voted Fleur and Tony too
Actually really enjoyed tonight

I voted the same. Wish I'd have had a fourth vote, and I'd have bunged Will a vote too

ShakeYourFeathers · 15/10/2022 21:41

I loved Louisa Lytton that year. She was robbed

derxa · 15/10/2022 21:41

Hamza's dance is one of those you could watch over and over. Go Tony though!!!

JamMakingWannaBe · 15/10/2022 21:43

lollipoprainbow · 15/10/2022 21:12

Kym reminds me of carol vorderman

I thought so too!

CrushingAndClueless · 15/10/2022 21:43

I loved tonight’s show.

I really did not like Tyler’s CC - I was so bored and that kind of dancing is not what I want to see on Strictly. I was Gob Smacked at his scores and still am.

Fleur was amazing!!!

I loved Matt’s enthusiasm, he really seemed to enjoy himself tonight and I thought Craig’s mark was really unfair.

Will looked so poorly….God knows how he managed to get through that and I bet he’s really disappointed with his scores. However, he must have felt so, so shitty when he was doing the dance so well done to him. I really hope he doesn’t get kicked out over this as I think it would be quite unfair.

Jayde was awful - it’s time for her to go.

I like Kym but something about Graz just gives me the “Ick” so I struggle to enjoy watching their dances.

Tony was AMAZING and so was Hamza.

My forgettable acts this week are:

Both Ellie’s
James
Helen.

I can’t help but feel I’ve forgotten some of the celebrities, and so they will obviously go in list of “forgettable acts” too 😂

PrincessScarlett · 15/10/2022 21:45

Yes, poor Will looked very poorly. And I loved the supportive arm rub from Tony after Will got his scores.
