Oh blimey it was that series!

Oh yeah they used to do that, didn't they where the first week or so they had half the celebs one week and the other half the next week.

Poor Fleur having to do an Argentine tango in week 4. Only had one Latin so far. I suppose better than the rumba.

Rylan would be more suited to Claudes job I think. Can imagine him in that role.

Ryland doesn't strike me as the type to put in 12 hour days 6 days a week

Bit harsh! I think it's safe to say Rylan works hard given that he is hardly ever off the telly!

I do think its weird how Rylan ended up on Radio 2 prime time gig and ITT.
The bbc just love to jump on the bandwagon when someone is everywhere.
He was also recording a few bbc 2 shows couple years back, some fashion show but they got axed.
All the channel 5 and ITV 2 stuff disappeared and hes ended up with the good solid jobs.

I like him, he seems a good laugh and probably would be a great dancer/easy to teach but I dont see it being his thing

On the subject of older contestants doing well, Anita Dobson was in for a while - I think she was with Robin?
Some older ones out pretty sharpish were Jimmy Tarbuck, Gloria Hunniford, Paul Daniels (don't think he danced a step! I remember him walking a whole dance). Has Angela Rippon done it? She has a dance background.

Apparently Michaela Strachan, also someone with a bit of dance experience, has been approached a couple of times but never made the final cast. Some of the people who've been rejected are far more well-known than those who made the show.

I'm missing Waite's Wednesday Warm-Up. I don't see why there's so much analysis of what has already happened and hardly any of what's coming up. ITT was always cheap and cheerful but this series already feels very repetitive and struggling for ideas. At least Tunes On Tuesday and Ian on a Wednesday broke the week up a bit and gave it a bit of focus.

Shouldn’t be an issue, there are definitely shorter female pros than male ones and Ellie & Nikita are doing a good job!

I'm watching ITT on catch up and must say, Matt is like a different person on ITT. Smiley, more animated, a bit jokey - I've quite warmed to him today.

Eugh, poor Lilija. I miss her so much. She was such a beautiful dancer. Is she still appearing on ITT, I don't watch it as much nowadays?

Btw, given the news in the tabloids today, I hope every single woman who has ever been cheated on votes for Helen Skelton this Saturday. I know outsiders can't judge what goes on inside a marriage but her ex's behaviour seems far from honourable. I think she moved countries for him too.

Helen will be safe or top of the leader board this week as she has a paso, which Gorka is good at, to a very good piece of music (Tamacun, last used by Katya for Mike and previously used by Natalie and Gregg).
Helen's ex impregnating his boss's daughter so soon after walking out on Helen and their baby is a git - same as Christian Horner going off with Geri Halliwell. She is better off without him.
I would chuck her a vote if she was bottom of the board, and I thought she did better than the score given or if I thought her mental state had affected training (it was mental health awareness Monday) but she does not get an automatic win as a woman scorned or an audience solidarity vote/protest against feckless exes.
I vote for whoever brought me the most joy over the series as a whole and if it is even, then the show dance clinches it for me.

I agree - I know the dances were originally "designed" that way, which of course gives a male/female pairing and advantage, but they really do work better as mixed sex.

Johannes and John last year were an exception that proved the rule, but they were very cleverly choreographed.

Same. In any case, I don’t think Helen needs the sympathy vote, she’s got the look of someone who’s going to make it all the way to the final through grit and determination, and bloomin’ lovely dancing.

Helen's ex seems deplorable. It would serve him right if she set up an orgiastic sex commune with Kai, Nikita, Giovanni, Gorka and, what the hell, throw in Karen and Jowita, too. Don't even let him peek in the windows.
