Cry to me is a good choice
Jurassic park they might get away with. It worked for Lady Leshurr.

Well, yes. Hopelessly devoted was done by AJ and Mollie, albeit as a rumba
Would have preferred Maniac over What a feeling
They haven't used Flash bang wallop since Jo Clifton and Scott Mills did a charleston to it, or tried to

I’d forgotten just how bad Scott was 😆simplest routine, Joanne massively carrying Scott and him barely able to lift her. They didn’t last very long as I recall. I think Joanne missed a year after that, then came back and won it with Ore... now that was a good series.

Maireas · 05/10/2022 18:35

Do we think Carlos is channeling his inner Onslow?

ChessieFL · 05/10/2022 18:37

Someone upthread said in the discussions about Kaye that they can’t imagine why someone would go on Strictly and not try. I do wonder sometimes if all the celebrities really want to do Strictly. I’m sure the majority do, but I do think some are pushed into it. For example, there’s always someone from Eastenders - I wonder if the EE bosses ask for volunteers and then have to strongarm someone if there aren’t any volunteers? There’s usually someone from breakfast telly too - I suspect a few years ago when Naga Munchetty did it that she didn’t really want to but was just told that it was her turn. She never really looked like she was enjoying it. Not saying this reasoning applies to Kaye but just some musings on why someone might go on strictly and not put much effort in.

the80sweregreat · 05/10/2022 19:15

They do it for money and exposure mostly

Claymorekick · 05/10/2022 19:51

So at what point did the producers decide that asking Tyler to do a jive and then a charleston either side of running a marathon was a good idea? 😂great planning there!

EsmaCannonball · 05/10/2022 22:17

A few people at the BBC have said that producers have told them that they need to do Strictly if they want higher profile work. It's also been pretty clear in the past that some celebs have got jobs at the Beeb contingent upon them doing Strictly. I'm starting to suspect that Kym Marsh was offered Waterloo Road on condition of doing the show.

Do we think Carlos is channeling his inner Onslow?

Perhaps he's doing some Daniel Day Lewis-level method preparation for playing Onslow in that One Hundred Years of the BBC theme week that they're doing. He's probably bought a lurcher and some Bovril as we speak.

I think Carlos as Onslow and Molly as Hyacinth Bucket would be beyond any hallucinogenic fever-dream since ....... Well, since Alison Hammond was cast as Catherine Earnshaw and made me re-evaluate the entire English literature canon in a way more radical than Terry Eagleton or Germaine Greer. It would be so effing nuts, it would be genius.

Maireas · 05/10/2022 22:43

An Onslow - Hyacinth dance would be lovely, perhaps a waltz, starting and finishing in giant Royal Doulton cups with the hand painted periwinkles.

GrouchyKiwi · 04/10/2022 19:59

A rumba to the Jurassic Park theme is a bit batshit. I hope they dress up as velociraptors. Or maybe the ones that spit poison, since they have those pretty neck frills.

Yes!! Let's hope Grin

Sidisawetlettuce · 06/10/2022 16:51

On ITT last night, Hamza said they weren't dressing as dinosaurs. Thank God for that.

Mrsjayy · 06/10/2022 17:19

I was watching ITT and he was adamant there wouldn't be dinosaurs it was funny I think he's a little bit scared of them 😃

Tabbouleh · 06/10/2022 18:09

Damn! I wanted dinosaurs.

Emotionalsupportviper · 06/10/2022 18:15

So did I.

I was looking forward to them.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/10/2022 18:30

That's disappointing. I suppose they could dress as Ellie and Alan.

StellaAndCrow · 06/10/2022 18:42

I think Janette has really come into her own as a presenter this series - she comes across as very natural and funny.

Maireas · 06/10/2022 18:48

She's lovely

EsmaCannonball · 06/10/2022 23:26

I think Janette is terrible. Yes, she's nice, but she can't go off-script or ad-lib, making her a really dull interviewer. When she interviewed Molly and Carlos you could actually see the touch of panic in her eyes as she struggled to find anything to say.

Bowednotbroken · 07/10/2022 07:27

I was disappointed last series as I felt she was awkward, but this series I agree. She really has relaxed into it, enjoying her attitude.

Mrsjayy · 07/10/2022 09:20

She's fine presenting she can talk about the dances and knows what she's on about .

shumway · 07/10/2022 09:36

She seems to get her words muddled up a lot which is distracting.

EsmaCannonball · 07/10/2022 18:40

I'd vote for Clara to replace Janette on ITT: superfan, done the show and a lot more natural doing live tv.

EsmaCannonball · 07/10/2022 18:57

Love Gorka and Nikita.

Nikita's hair in that dress rehearsal clip was very 'minor European aristocracy toyboy fiancé of Alexis Carrington-Colby-Dexter.'

He's the Prince of Weissbaden Uber Schlossen von Glustick. Cadet branch. Lives in Monaco, squires the ladies.
