I thought Ellie T and Matt were the weakest, possibly Hamza. Tony's routine was comedy gold! Katya is very clever.

Ahhhh thankfully Ritchie not top of the leaderboard, I just looked at the screen shots and saw him top of the first photo!!😂

How on earth could Jayde have scored 8? Some bits were good, but others were just embarrassing. I really enjoyed Helen this evening. And of course the two amazing charlestons, Tyler's and Kym's.

@TitsInAbsentia the song Matt danced to is in Top Gun Maverick, not the original Top Gun. Would have been better if he danced to one of the songs in the original.

Did you really think that Tyler and Diane's was one of the worst dances? I thought they were great!

I actually love Hamza and his dancing hair but I found tonight's routine extremely flat...I kept waiting for it to start!!

Jayde is really not that good - she appears to be being overmarked consistently 🙄 but very brave of her to appear in a matching outfit next to Karen who has a 🔥 body!

Katya is a genius - today's routine was just like Gangnam Style - hilarious but so good because of the choreography and concept!!

At this stage of the contest no, it's not possible with the points allocation you get from the judges and the public, but when you get down to last 8, maybe 7, things start to change. And for the record I had got the leaderboard wrong, Richie wasn't at the top...phew!

Didn't register with me either. I only recall it in the end credits. It's not 'Take My Breath Away' is it!

Strictly speaking (ha) it is, but the public votes would have to be completely the opposite of the judges, so it would never happen. It's more likely I think when you get ties.

It's always theoretically, mathematically, possible for the two dancers at the top of the table to be in the dance-off, because viewer votes trump judges votes in the event of a tie of the combined scores.

But it requires the viewers to rank the couples in exactly the opposite order to the judges. If you're down to five couples then that's not too unlikely, but with fourteen couples the odds against it are astronomical, especially because the factors which judges like about dances often overlap with what viewers like about dances.

Ties on the leader-board complicate it, and make the couples at the top of the leaderboard less safe, but at this stage it's unthinkable that, say, Will or Helen would be in the dance-off. Especially since we know that people aren't voting for Matt.

I think Jayde puts on a performance, which wins points from the judges. I thought it was a challenging routine tonight, but it was over marked.

I’m just not getting the Will love. True, he’s a better dad dancer (slightly) than either James or Matt, but his hot bloke next door persona seems a bit forced to me. He hasn’t done a dance yet that hasn’t included him crooking his finger at Nancy in a not sexy way - and how did he win famwarz? By saying the dance was for his mum? (Again).

On the other hand, I really like Neil and never notice him appearing in the background any more than any of the other pros. Oh, well 😄

For entertainment value, Tony Adams should have got 40!!

And WTF re Jayde?? She is so overmarked. The judges criticised Ellie's footwork tonight yet didn't say anything negative to Jayde, who was flat-footed, out of time, and couldn't get off the floor??! Insane.
