I really miss the simplicity and sweetness of the earlier series of mafs. Fed up of this bunch of flat faced instafreaks. I've seen more realistic relationships on an episode of Numberjacks.

Sorry going off piste here. But I caught a glimpse of the very early series.
Was it just two couples at a time back then? It seemed more of a genuine experiment.

When did the format change ?

George’s mum breaking down rather than telling her son to get a grip explains so much - family of nightmare drama llamas from the sounds of it

@Dave20 series 1-5 were the old format. There were normally about 3/4 couples matched and they did show the science behind the match in more depth.

There were sometimes only two couples in the end who decided to go through with the wedding and there was more counselling before the decision.

There were no dinner parties or commitment ceremonies and they had no contact with other couples.

It was far more realistic and a bit depressing. The day to day living in reality, going to their normal jobs and evenings spent in front of the TV or playing cards when they clearly hated each other.

7 and 8 have copied the Australian format because it was more successful.

I prefer it because it seems less of a strain on them but I'm not entirely sure a 'social experiment' cuts it any more.

This is just a reality show really. Entertainment at best. The weddings aren’t even official, they’re not legal.

Why would someone with trust issues marry a stranger? Why would someone who values their privacy go on this? I’m looking at George and Kwame!!

Well, I've just caught up.. I say Kwame's living in his mum's spare room - or even his childhood bedroom. What did he say at the table? 'It's free willy on the outside?' What's that all about? He's kept himself totally away from his bride since day one. I hope he gets called out on it.

George looks like he's beaten by life. I wonder if him & his dm are smokers? They carry so much stress on their faces.

Are we going to see reverse homestays on Monday? I hope so.

I think Wit & Tat should've been made to apologise to the group before being allowed to carry on.

Why? Why can't we have a real time thread as that's what a lot of people enjoy? I didn't report by the way, so it's not just me who enjoys watching as it unravels. What is the problem with that? People who want to discuss what's happening on Instagram or twitter or wherever can go on those apps, start their own thread or use the spoiler one that someone has already set up for them on mn. It's not complicated .

Because it wasn’t spoiling what happened it just stated that that poster knows someone who knows someone on the show. This spoiler nonsense has gone way too far

Duka was on unveiled tonight and he came across lovely.
