Strictly 2022 Thread 2 - Who's your favourite...

Hello folks,
Last one filled up and I was surprised another hadn't been started for a while.

First thoughts:
I like this year's cohort and I recognise a few faces.

• Jayde reminds me of Dawn French. Wasn't expecting her to be paired with Karen.

• Carlos and Vito will be interesting to watch in their debut. Molly went to Sylvia Young Theatre, so she could be a ringer.

• I've seen Jowita in The Greatest Dancer and she was phenomenal. Hamza looks like he'll be good fun.

• Luba looked amazing during John Legend's performance and it's a shame that neither her celebs went very far. Maybe she's better suited to dancing in the background.

• When Helen Skelton mentioned needing someone who could understand a northern accent, I immediately guessed it was Gorka.

• Ellie and Johannes look good together. She's absolutely delighted with him, and I hope we get to watch them for a good while.

• Matt Goss seems rather subdued, but I think he'll have a good work ethic and deliver a good performance.

Yeah Hamzas parents were in the audience.Wills family were there. Ellie S boyfriend was in the audience but Kym was the definate winner. I liked the full studio.

I thought there was a real lack of connection between Gio and Richie. Not a patch on John and Johannes.
I was really surprised by how well Hamza danced as he's quite a big guy. I have to say his Dad with his bow tie on in the audience made me tear up a little.
I like the Kym/ Graz relationship.

Just watched Gio and Ritchie. Zero connection. Gio looked genuinely shocked at the scores like he thought the judges needed their heads read

How adorable was his dad. They said they were Dr's but I bet dad is a consultant they are fond of a bowtie!

From a showmance POV I guess Molly and Carlos are the only real possibilities, although Nadiya ditching Kai for Matt Goss would be tabloid dynamite and Ritchie wouldn't be human if he hadn't daydreamed about a cross-couple romance with Johannes.

I do think there’s a bit of chemistry between Carlos and Molly. The styling - for her - was awful last night, but she danced very well and the two of them seem to be gelling on and off the floor. Future finalists in my book.

Is Jayde in a marriage of convenience or an open marriage? Is Clayton not gay and Jayde was with a comedian, Will, for a couple of years?

I'm pretty sure Clayton is gay. They got 'married' in an inflatable church at Bestival when they were both 'vicars'. They aren't actually married, just really good mates. Jayde appears to be straight and currently single.

I've always loved Hamsa on countryfile etc so absolutely delighted to see him dance so beautifully.

Jayde also danced with her sister in her younger days so I think it’s a bit of a salute to her.
