Piffle · 30/01/2008 14:04

3andnomore · 30/01/2008 14:08

blardy hell....if I am lucky I fill a B cup...lol....

suwoo · 30/01/2008 14:10

Piffle I was a 30HH and had a reduction at 19. Now a 30E.

Slouchy · 30/01/2008 14:12

hey it is piffle - my boob twin (30J here).
And donator of Boo too - much loved by my wee niece.

Didn't see the prog, did read Grazia article. All a bit odd and scary I thought. Another 'Lets all point and gasp at these fvreaks masquerading as a health prog'. Not Nice.

MrsCarrot · 30/01/2008 14:14

Dh pointed out that there was no Dr in front of Gillian M in the credits.

Yasmin - I also assumed you were anorexic and masking it with allergies as the food you were eating didn't seem to reflect what you were saying. As someone who doesn't eat wheat or dairy, and on the whole avoids processed food, the fact that you were only left with fruit and veg to eat seemed like an excuse to me as I don't have that problem. Why would it mean you could only have a smoothie for lunch? There are many wheat and dairy alternatives - I eat lots of them every day.

It is interesting that you say the programme left out details of the allergies to suit them. Although, as someone else pointed out, it is in the nature of these programmes to edit and twist the truth to portray the story as they wish.

DH also pointed out your breasts many times. They were quite something.

MrsCarrot · 30/01/2008 14:17

My breasts are 34G atm while breastfeeding. I have no doubt that, if, and when, I lose weight, they will merrily hop back down the alphabet like little deflated pillows.

Oblomov · 30/01/2008 14:37

Is Slouchy the winner ? ( 30J ! Christ, that puts my ample bosom to shame)
You know we had a thread with who had the lowest number, i.e who had joined mumsnet first ( I think it was Califrau, wasn't it, can't remember), is this the same thing ?

Piffle · 30/01/2008 14:42

30J and 32HH are very close in size
I am between 30 and 32 at 31 inches and chose HH rather thanJ for psychological reasons - the same reasons that ahd me languishing unsupported on 36F's for many years!
As size goes down cup size goes up.

I cannot wait til I get mine done really cannot
DP on t'other hand less thrilled but supportive - good seeing as I am SAHm as he's footing th bill LOL

suwoo · 30/01/2008 14:52

Best thing I ever did- have you tried the NHS piffle? They did mine no question when I was 19.

Slouchy · 30/01/2008 14:55

Constantly toying with getting mine done. I know the NHS would do it but feel a bit unsure about (1) taking money away from old dears who need a hip replacement and (b) MRSA.
Will get a loan I think. One of these days.

Slouchy · 30/01/2008 14:55

Lol at this thread turning into a virtual Miss Wet Tshirt contest!

Oblomov · 30/01/2008 15:02

I too am laughing at the wet t-shirt decline of this. Has anyone ever noticed what extremely huge nipples kate Moss has - just to drag this down to another level - tee hee.

suwoo · 30/01/2008 15:09

Slouchy, the psycological mess I was in at 19, meant I had no feelings of guilt at being a drain on NHS resources. I was only a size 8 with these mahoosive tits, there was no question of me having it done. Adult men had groped me on the street on more than one occasion.... anyway, back to Yasmin and her ishoos tits.

Slouchy · 30/01/2008 15:40

Oh soowoo - have no issue with your reasons for doing it on NHS. Honestly. These are just mine own. glad it was so successful for you.

FlameNFurter · 30/01/2008 16:10

Ooh yes the nork question wasn;t in a finger pointing kind of way, I know a lovely teeny tiny lady with G or H natural breasts, was just nosey

Glad to hear the other bloke has lost 5 stone now

3andnomore · 30/01/2008 16:15

thinking about teh norks...am I imagining this...but did the Doctor not say, oh and you put weight on on your boobs, too...or something...because I thought...ya what?

Piffle · 30/01/2008 16:34

Problem with NHs as explained to me by my GP (who refused to send me on anyway) was that they take off enough to make you comfy
I need want a C-D cup, she said most likely I'd get to an E-F cup at best
Given that they can grow back a bit....

flack · 30/01/2008 17:01

That made sense what you said about why the enhancements, Yas. I don't think anyone on here was being that critical about the idea of getting them done, more legitimately interested in the experience. I did wonder if it was just the effect of the push-up bra making them look balloon shaped, but couldn't tell from watching on telly.

For anyone considering plastic surgery or related invasive techniques, I strongly recommend the book I just read, Confessions of a Park Avenue Plastic Surgeon, by Cap Lesesne. Because in addition to his own autobiography, he talks a lot about how to choose a plastic surgeon and what size boobs to get for your size (and what shape, and so on). And stuff like nose jobs, dermo-abrasion and liposuction, surgeon attitudes, and so on.

suwoo · 30/01/2008 17:09

Sorry slouchy, wasn't meant as a dig at you, just an explanation. I would take them up on it though if they are happy to do it.. any questions, I'm happy to answer-although was many moons ago.

Lomond · 31/01/2008 08:07

Sorry but I'm pissed off now, I thought Yas was a mumsnetter not just here for self promotion! Must have missed the bit of the show where it said she was an actress and model.

Well done to Darrell for losing all that weight

Katiekitty · 31/01/2008 09:22

Speaking as someone who had an eating disorder for about 15 years (got it fixed now), I've met LOADS of different people who also suffer from different kinds of disorders, and good grief, it's amazing how many of them use allergies as a way of restricting or controling what they eat, sometimes as a way of getting attention, sometimes as a way of just staying in charge of whatever passes their lips. I've seen traumas and tears at the table (sometimes by myself) about how they feel ill just touching a piece of cheese or eating a bit of bread. I am extremely cynical about all of this.
Also, in my line of work I have dealt with lots of models and it's amazing how virtually all of them have some sort of food allergy to obsess over (and also restrict food intake). I find it all very hard to believe, sorry. Emaciated model/actress types are two a penny. Each with requisite food allergy. Yasmin, sorry to say this, but you'll fit right in. And if you go ahead and have a nose job, then you'll be able to play the game even more. And, in the fame game, there's no such thing as bad publicity, so don't expect a lot of sympathy about the programme being heavily edited, you'll learn.

branflake81 · 31/01/2008 11:40

I think people's responses to Yasmin's posts have been very unfair.

Whatever the reason for her being underweight, whether it be genuine or "perceived" allergies, the fact is that it upsets her and going on the show was her attempt to (bravely, imho) address this.

I am not surprised the show was carefully edited, that is the nature of sensationalist tv and to be honest I don't think it does anyone any favours (except maybe the fat bloke).

I hope that Yasmin is able to work through her problems. I speak as someone who had an eating disorder in my teens, from age 14-19. I know eating problems come in many guises and all are hard to deal with. So well done to Yasmi for getting this far.

twiggy11 · 31/01/2008 17:30

Hi guys, I am also one of the 'skinny ones'!!! My show is on next week - please tune it - it promises to be slightly different to the other shows!!! Can I also just say, this is tv so don't believe everything you watch or read, they have to exagerate slightly (or a lot)!!! Can I also just say that none of us have any kind of 'eating disorder' - this is obviously a very serious issue and for such reasons, these people would never be used for a tv show. I loved the challenge and there was no danger what so ever in it!!!

Happy watching - Tuesday 5th Feb 2008 8pm
