I find the way they edited luca bizarre. The best story they could have had is a Gemma Owen love story. Why portray him in such a bad ligh? His conversation with his parents he looked bored, embarrassed (of them) and awkward. Surely it could have been edited better. I wonder why the hate for Luca is the storyline they are going with?

Maybe it's not editing though. Maybe he's a gigantic prick and it's impossible to show him in a good light?

Cravingsweets · 01/08/2022 11:36

Remember how Luca previously told Tash she shouldn't be upset about being in the bottom as she should be happy to be in love etc etc. And now look at him - instantly pissed off and combative at any hint he not universally adored!!!

Exactly! The disbelief that some people don't see them as the best couple. I'm pleased people in there can see what he's like. That's nothing to do with bad editing!

A580Hojas · 01/08/2022 11:53

Lol at portraying Luca in a bad light. He portrays himself in a bad light! Have you not been watching?

WalterHottleBottle · 01/08/2022 11:57

Agree with what most PPs are saying about Luca. I expect if you're one of his 'mates' he is a laugh and good for joking around. But it would be interesting to know if they are also always careful to keep on his good side... a Mean Girls/Heathers vibe radiates from him.

I didn't pick up any veiled messages from Gemma's mum. But definitely got them from Luca's mum to him.

WeneedtotalkaboutBrunobaby · 01/08/2022 10:57

Of course nobody knows if this is actually true but its interesting.

Ugh, yes I agree with this guy when he says we shouldn't be judged on what we did at school, but that sounds particularly vile behaviour from him (if it's true). And also, as he says, his behaviour doesn't seem to have changed much 🤦🏼‍♀️

RedRuby152 · 01/08/2022 12:15

I got almost caught up then left it again so trying to catch up by flicking through the episodes so I can actually say I stuck through it for a whole series for once. I'm up to Tuesdays

We see 60min out of 24hr li could show whatever they want. Just curious that that's the route they took. Obviously he's done that stuff no one's denying it just surprised li chose to edit him to look like a total dick.

WeneedtotalkaboutBrunobaby · 01/08/2022 12:16

But to be fair, I’m sure any one of us could have somebody arise from the past who
ssid we did something that hurt them or they didn’t like…. intentional or not.

vjg13 · 01/08/2022 12:26

@HandbagsnGladrags I think the production team are doing the best with the material they have! He's just a total idiot with no self awareness.

The difference when Davide said something about them all voting for his couple and not caring.

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 01/08/2022 12:41

Interesting though that almost universally the folk who have come out have said Paige and Jacques were absolute tosspots but all say Luca is getting a bad rap yet we weren’t really shown any of that behaviour.

StaticRatic · 01/08/2022 12:42

I can easily believe that to be true @WeneedtotalkaboutBrunobaby . She tells the story in a way that sounds truthful.

adriftabroad · 01/08/2022 12:44

Could it be that they know G&L will not win (largely because of L) and to appease the Owen clan make it plainly clear the reason for not winning was NOT her.

adriftabroad · 01/08/2022 12:52

PS I[ve met Gemmas mum at a World Cup event I was organising on a yacht in Nice/Cannes for the WAGS at the time. She was absolutely lovely, not married yet, very unassuming she was with Alan Shearers wife. We were all very young. She must have been the same age as Gemma now and me around 10 years older.

We went to watch England play.

Thanks for the info @LampLighter414 @Twonewcats @FiloPasty I'm surprised there's not been more swapsies between contestants afterwards tbh.

Agree with the Luca comments and think producers are doing their best with little to play with. He's all sneaky side glances and sulky faces. He was not even happy to see his parents and is embarrassed by them.

I also agree that the other LI girls have had enough of his miserable sarkiness - with Ekin comment and Indiyah eye-rolling

HinduKush · 01/08/2022 13:19

I think Luca has grown up being top dog in what ever environment he has been in. He thinks he and Gemma are top dogs in the house - so how dare any of these underlings vote for him.

I reckon Gemma and her mum would have discussed a strategy before entering. It would have been 'don't give too much away' but if you are not convinced be subtle about it. She could totally read between the lines - there was none of 'oh your dad just loves him and can't wait to meet him' comments. Her mum, like Gemma chooses her words carefully.

Then there was a shot of Gemma lying clothed in the empty bath - you could just tell she was thinking about it - and could tell that her mum was not onboard. Since then she has been pretty quiet - she didn't join in the gushing conversations with all the other girls whilst getting ready.

I reckon she shut the conversation down with Dami and Indiyah because she agreed with them but obviously couldn't say it. She is biding her time. So is so self controlled and assured for a 19 year old.

Mouldyfoodhelp · 01/08/2022 14:01

Almost 2hrs later I'm ready for tonight to see as a previous poster suggested Ekin Su and Davide to win and Davide to steal shouting Ekin Su is a liar!

The producers would have talked to the parents. Not just telling them what they can and can't say, but also finding out how the land lies.

They know that if Gemma's parents tell her when she leaves that Luca is a bellend, it'll be a rapid split. And they don't want the winners to implode immediately on exit.

I think it was plain as a pikestaff from the off that Gemma would reach the final. But she's not going to win. The producers can't rig a public vote (they're regulated these days, after sundry scandals) but they can tip the conditions as far as possible.

HinduKush · 01/08/2022 14:15

Luca obviously realised only he and Gemma voted for Tasha. No-one else. He was absolutely livid that the others, especially Dami, voted for him and Gemma over Andrew and Tash.

TitsInAbsentia · 01/08/2022 14:23

Lampzade · 31/07/2022 22:51

He didn’t approach anyone else , because Dami offered an explanation.
The rest of them were probably too scared to confront Luca

Also there is no way Luca would take on Ekinde, and he can't call Tasha out on anything as he's already been served his arse on a plate for that one!

If ES wanted to be memorable and to secure the highest possible approval and biggest deals after LI, then she should be the one holding the cash, and make a speech asking us to all listed to the end. And she should steal the money, give it to Tasha for charity, and say that her time in the villa and being with Davide is worth so much more.

indiyah looks like she’s wearing a wedding dress 🤣 can’t believe this is the final episode

TitsInAbsentia · 01/08/2022 14:45

Just rewatching a bit of last night, I wanted to watch the full side eye and "who is it" from Lucy followed by the stink eye from Indiya at his "I'm going to have some fun tonight". I just wish they'd left him and Gemma to the last two just to make him sweat a bit more and start to think about why he's not that popular. Booo hooooo.... I loved Davide saying well I got a vote from all of you and I'm fine (I really would have preferred him to add "you silly little boy" to the end of it!). I just hope that it's put people off voting for Lucy, I really don't want him to win. Gemma really sounded like she just couldn't be arsed when he wasn't taking Indiyas explanation.

For once the opening to aftersun was actually funny...."you are a liaaar get da fuck out of heeere" rather aptly to that un funny comedian guy 😂 plus Laura's frocky horror had me guffawing....does nothing for her at all.

If Tandrew are out in the first round tonight (which would be a fecking tragedy) then I'll vote Ekinde. But for me Tandrew are the only couple that actually show a proper tenderness towards each other and that's actually pretty hard to fake.

What ethnicity is Tasha? Her surname and dad's first name sounds Arabic. I'm sure there could have been some interesting conversations about that, but they never show stuff like that - just surface-level conversations about "where their head's at".

I can't vote (not in UK) but will be happy with either A&T or ES&D.

Luca is so self-centered. It was a game - they all had to vote, and it was a 50:50 chance, so deal with it. If anything, it shows people thought L&G are more of a threat, and voted tactically.
