So this is it gang, the final thread.

Will Paul & Therese get it on in time?
Who's off to The US?
Who moves in no 24?
Will Toadie make it down the aisle again?
Will Jane ever move out?
What will the last ever words spoken be?

And anyone going to the shows has to come back and spill the deets

Has anyone else got something in their eye?
I don't know if I'm crying because of the lovely ending or because we all got so bloody old!

Well its that too...seeing them looking so old when we knew them when we were so young..means we have got old too and its crying for past and being young, and how we all connected through watching and... and that episode and ending was brilliant - its a mixture but its really got me good.

Riverlee · 29/07/2022 22:05

Also, think I’m emotional because another staple in our life has gone. Even though I didn’t watch it regularly, I did used to tune in, and see Paul and Toadie, and even though I didn’t know half the characters, that familiarity was always a constant and reassuring.

ChessieFL · 29/07/2022 22:06

Was that Phillip Martin right at the end at the party?

They obviously couldn’t get Guy Pearce and Kylie &Jason there on the same day, you never actually saw them in the same shot!

MiddleClassProblem · 29/07/2022 22:06

Actor Lou has been unwell and retired. I got the impression it was a degenerative disease or similar.

Cherryana · 29/07/2022 22:08

Apart from the fact I am lying on my sofa I am doing the electronic equivalent of a standing ovation!!

remember1 · 29/07/2022 22:08

Did anyone else notice the name on the envelope that Therese put the unsigned papers in was T OLIVER, the actor that played Lou! Obviously he couldn't return for whatever reason but a lovely nod.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 29/07/2022 22:09

It was Sonya that got me too

and yes it was Phillip

I'm so sad it's finished but That was soooo good!
I really feel they did the ending well and I'm so glad they're not all leaving Susan and Karl behind.
It feels like it's kinda open to pick up again if ever they wanted too.
As sad as it sounds I feel like we have closure that Ramsey Street is still living on in the pretend world.

I just said to DH (through the tears) “I’m glad Karl & Susan aren’t being left alone”.

seeing Doug and then Sonia just wrecked me…..

crockydoodle · 29/07/2022 22:12

Amused by Charlene's jumpsuit , reminiscent of the time she used to dress in a boiler suit as she was a mechanic

Starburst8 · 29/07/2022 22:13

Did anyone put two and two together and think they know who Amy is pregnant by?
I squeeled because I think I know 🤣

cheerysunset · 29/07/2022 22:14

Who was the 'lost' character after the few people who had died?

Yes I noticed that too. Nice touch

That was Finn (can’t remember the surname)

nameychange · 29/07/2022 22:15

I assumed Joel is Amy’s baby daddy

im going to watch again to pick up all the cameos and references.

I assume Joel too!

Finn Kelly was the one that was lost.

Starburst8 · 29/07/2022 22:18

I liked the "ghosts" it was good seeing Madge and Sonya again.

Fiddlersgreen · 29/07/2022 22:19

Oh yes makes sense for it to be Joel

There were not many actually with K and J, the balcony looked a split shot! Was the number plate significant and where did the mini go to make way for the food trucks?

Weren't they there at the house or do they put doubles in?

Riverlee · 29/07/2022 22:25

I liked how they made Kylies hair more curly/and frizzy, the more natural look she had back in the 80s, rather than how she wears it today.

ialso saw the nod to the dungarees she used to wear.

rc22 · 29/07/2022 22:26

I'm in bits and I haven't watched since it left the BBC (because I still lived at home and our aerial wouldn't pick up ch5 and my dad wouldn't pay to change it!!)
Just makes me think of being young and optimistic and Neighbours being something that united us all - friends at school, my teachers, my parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles. I don't think I knew anyone who didn't watch it!! For all the hype about things on Netflix etc, I don't think there will ever be a phenomenon like it on television again.

Think it was.

That was a beautiful episode. They ticked all the boxes and gave a nod to everyone. The tributes from various characters in the video to Toadie had me on the brink and then him staying at Ramsay Street was perfect. Although I haven’t watch the show really since about 2001 it’s gonna be weird not seeing it in the TV listings. Thank you Neighbours.

Tinkerbellflowers · 29/07/2022 22:34

It was Susan saying "and those who have watched us from afar" is what set me off 😭
