Richard Ayoade sacked for being a bully? (UPDATE: No! 'Twas just a joke. Phew)

I have been listening to a podcast, Brydon &, and I've just listened to the episode with Joe Lycett (who I love). Joe and Rob talk about how Richard was sacked from Channel 4 Travel Man for being a bully and an aggressor who is physically and emotionally violent. Joe also says Richard was horrible to animals and was also involved with the tearing down of a statue. I have Googled but can't find any information about what happened. Has anyone read anything about this? I think Brydon and Lycett wouldn't talk about it so publicly if it wasn't true, at least in part, so why can't I find anything?

Joe took over from Richard didn’t he? It sounds like he was joking.

Are you sure they weren't joking? Sounds like Joe lycetts sense of humour. If it was true they probably wouldn't talk about it and it would be in the media.

Definitely weren't joking. You can lsten from 51 minutes 30 seconds if you're interested. Joe says it's the first time he's talked about it publicly.

Haven't listened to it but from the total lack of mention of this apparently shocking revelation elsewhere would put money on your sarcasm detector being broken.

The alternative frankly too terrible to contemplate. Surely!

I've just listened again - and now I think they are joking! 😂I'm glad I can carry on liking RA. I'm so gullible!

In some ways I could imagine it being true, I love RA so abit like when you hear someone you like is an utter dick.
But instantly I thought they're joking, I'd imagine that would have come out at the time if there was a hint of truth to it.

Also thank you as I didn't know about this podcast and I love Rob Brydon and Joe Lycett so just downloaded it and will give a listen now

I'm loving the podcast series - some of them are hilarious. Particularly enjoyed Jason Manford and Dawn French. Brydon is fab!
