Richard Ayoade sacked for being a bully? (UPDATE: No! 'Twas just a joke. Phew)

I have been listening to a podcast, Brydon &, and I've just listened to the episode with Joe Lycett (who I love). Joe and Rob talk about how Richard was sacked from Channel 4 Travel Man for being a bully and an aggressor who is physically and emotionally violent. Joe also says Richard was horrible to animals and was also involved with the tearing down of a statue. I have Googled but can't find any information about what happened. Has anyone read anything about this? I think Brydon and Lycett wouldn't talk about it so publicly if it wasn't true, at least in part, so why can't I find anything?

I’m so glad it’s not real. I’m autistic and when I listened I couldn’t tell it was a joke. I love Richard Aoyade and I’d be gutted if he was a bully (and I’d have to stop watching IT crowd which is one of my very favourites)

I was worried there for a sec - def JL’s type of humour though.

Could you imagine JL, RA and RB being asked questions and unable to resist turning every answer into one dripping with sarcasm and one liners.
Bringing in all the previous guests from Travelman like Johnny Vegas, Chris o Dowd and Frank Skinner as witnesses
It would be an amazing comedy series🤣

I loved RA on Travel man so much. JL on the other hand is just irritating, couldn't stand him on Sewing bee. I find he's a poor presenter who always sounded contrived IMO, I watched one Travel man with him and lost interest.

It sounds like a joke and Joe Lycett is known for his funny campaigns! I wouldn't be surprised if he was the OP to be honest 😆 which is an exciting thought.

I've just listened to that bit of the podcast and it adds an extra layer of hilarity to think of someone seriously believing that RA puts on a disguise to tear down statues! Brilliant!

I don't think I've changed my name slightly, have I? I certainly haven't meant to. But I'm not using my usual username so maybe that's why.

I'm just glad this forum is anonymous or I'd have to change identities entirely! And leave the country.

I really want to know ...why do people (in this case you) change your user name mid thread? In this case, you just changed case. I always am left wondering why!

OK, so I've just looked and it's because the capital letters are missing. It's an old username I selected from my profile settings. After that I typed it in manually the first time with no capitals - and now that's what it suggests. There's no exciting reason and I didn't know you could do that either.

It's very easy to accidentally switch between different capitalisations of the same name. From the OP's POV all your own posts are highlighted anyway so you don't easily realise you've done it.
