What happened to the love island thread

Just been on to catch up on what I'd missed and the thread has gone?! Anyone have any idea why?

I like Afia’s looks, and I thought the paramedic might be more interesting than average, but we don’t seem to see much of her.

I always find it interesting watching these kind of shows to see who the most sought-after people are and why.

I think Gemma is attractive but there's not a huge amount separating her from the other girls. I think it's probably more how she holds herself. She obviously rates herself and has the expectation that she will be the one they all want. I think Ekin Su is prettier but has been too try-hard. Reminds me a bit of that older lady from last year who's name I can't remember. Paige has come across a bit desperate too. So has Tasha.

Indiya, Afia and Amber are invisible to the boys. We know why.

Not surprised Liam walked. He's probably in shock at being overlooked by everyone when in RL he must get a lot of attention. Must be quite damaging to the mental health.

liam didn’t really explain why he walked. Are we to assume it was because nobody was showing any interest?! Seems a bit sketchy when you think how many people )presumably) must have applied, but maybe he was genuinely struggling.

Ekin Su is still being cringey. I think Davide would def have picked Gemma if he’d gone first.

Andrew seems so insipid. I assume he likes Tasha but there’s no real passion or enthusiasm.

Poor Affia didn’t even get a look in…

I'm struggling this series. Just seems like the gemma show and there's no genuine conversations being shown. I really enjoyed when they used to show the boys having banter and a good laugh and the girls having fun and not worrying about what they looked like. I'm sure that's happening but the producers aren't showing it

Ekin Su is quite entertaining from the little we've seen. She doesn't stick to the script 100% for a start. Speaks properly not just vague lines.

It’s the first week! You can’t expect all the entertainment to be immediately there when they’ve hardly got to know each other yet - that takes time.

I don’t really think it’s the Gemma show? I don’t think they’ve focused on her that much🤷‍♀️

I think the real reason for Liam leaving with come out soon, there’s no way he just left because no one was showing interest! Its not even been a week

im sorry but I just don’t find ekin su that attractive at all and she doesn’t come across well either.

We don't expect entertainment and drama we just expect proper conversations that aren't fake. And proper natural flirting not set up.
If Love Island was on channel 4 it would be nothing like ITV 2 for kids.

Channel would show you what happens in real time.
Five dates a week on channel 4 is pretty boring and pointless but 100% better

There was definitely more natural conversation in the earlier series, surprised we’ve not had the “where’s your head at?” Line this year 🤣🤣 that was over used in the other ones

Unfortunately all reality TV shows become less natural each year because the contestants are aware that they might be famous when they get out.

Davide is insufferable. If he could date himself, he would. I don’t see him working out with anyone and predict he’ll be out quite quickly.

Luca is likely to have a roving eye. It’s good that Gemma is now with someone closer to her own age but I get f boy vibes from him.

But it should be about the 16 year old's choice .

I know from my own experience that most 16 year old boys when you are 16 are so much less mature & not often relationship material (which is what I wanted ) would have been like dating my little brother.

4 years is nothing.

It will get better in the next week and we will start getting the ‘tomorrow night’ because this week they are showing the day before, but with the break in shows on the Saturday, they get a bit more breathing space and they can mess around with the timing a bit I think and improve the production. This week must have been full on to get the show out each night. That’s my theory anyway.

I dunno. I had a 20 year old boyfriend at 16 and it was so normal, half my friends did too. I think it's OK.

Gemma isn't interesting enough to sustain the show, but I think like Tommy and Curtis she's probably got a deal to be in there throughout.
