A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese drama as & when.

Shows marked with a star are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, its important to note most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, language, film and music when the mood takes us. A few of us are learning Korean, Japanese and/or Mandarin (some more diligently than others admittedly), so we swap tips and links to language resources. Basically, anything topical goes.

I have finished Tomorrow which I thought was wonderful, I would love a second series. The storyline between Koo Ryeon and Park Joong-gil was so touching. Also, hasn't Lee Soo-hyuk got absolutely beautiful hair?

Trying to binge my way quickly through Healer because it leaves Netflix soon. Episode 11 where they hold hands at the cinema without looking at one another was just gorgeous. Not like that at my local cinema, unfortunately, I have never seen one tall, dark and handsome man around.

I saw a trailer for Alchemy of Souls coming to Netflix soon. Looks just my cup of tea.

This morning my windows10 wallpaper was image of Hitachi seaside park flowers looks so unreal that I had to search how it actually looks like & came across this link - Spring flowers around the world ….. These places are sooooo gorgeous.

All the webtoon fans, I stumbled on In the Bleak Midwinter on Webtoon. It’s really good. Most of chapters have an accompanying soundtrack which varies chapter by chapter, building an atmosphere for the incredibly stylish artwork. I’m currently weighing up Ivan vs Omega as doodles with the mostest. Omega wins in the brooding tsundere stakes. Ivan is more humane, conversational and warm.

TheGirl I would recommend Sh**ting Stars - it has enough backbone to it to be a satisfying romance if you see what I mean. I've not watched the final episode though so don't blame me if it all goes wrong in the final hour!

Briiick they really do love their golf. I have to say it leaves me cold, but at least they are getting some fresh air and exercise, if they aren't playing virtual golf that is.

Rowdy I think Chang hee was the sibling who matured the most over the course of the show. He was angry for so many of the earlier episodes but he had found some contentment and acceptance by the end.
