Interesting about the bookies predictions about the difference between the jury and tele vote.

Bookies think that the UK will top the jury vote. And Ukraine will come second. I think I struggle with this tbh. On both counts.

Bookies then put Ukraine top of the tele vote which I'd agree with. What I think is more interesting is whats going on below that. The UK is fourth on the tele vote. I don't think we can possibly win with that if I'm honest.

Sweden is second, Spain is third. I can't understand the love for Spain at all. Sweden second in the tele vote puts them in a really strong position.

At the moment the UK is still second fav with the bookies. I don't think that is going to hold until 8pm. I think Sweden will edge us out and be the second fav later today.

I think its between Ukraine and Sweden, but we will see.

I haven't heard the UK entry in full yet, though what I've heard sounded good.

I don’t think the Ukrainian entry is especially strong. (It’s definitely not as good as the one from last year). If it wins, then it will be for political reasons. I wonder who would host next year? It’s unlikely that Ukraine will be able to.

I expect Sweden to do well. It’s a great song, and they’ve got a good spot in the running order. Theoretically you could say the same for the UK - but being sandwiched between the male vocalists for Australia and Poland isn’t great.

Australia is in the 'fill up your drink for the last time' slot after you've spilt it for Moldova and then 'really wanted to watch Sweden cos its supposed to be good'.

I wouldn't worry about being after Australia.

Poland on the other had is half decent. But its more downbeat.

I don't get Sweden either, although my DS loves it. It sounds to me like her mic needs to be turned up! The lyrics are great and they get lost in the music. Shame.

Yes, I've just listened to a Mans Zermerlow cover of this year's Swedish song, and oh those lyrics are heartbreaking! But that's a bit of a theme this year.

I didn't rate Italy last year pre contest (was team Ukraine with Katerina and her green feather jacket), but its grown on me.

I find you can’t really tell whether a Eurovision song is great until quite a while after the actual contest. Now is probably an excellent time to be evaluating the offerings from 2019 (I actually think Arcade has aged fairly well, but not nearly as well as Soldi). If Ukraine do win, then it will be interesting to see what opinion is on the song in 2024/5.
