Is anyone else watching this again on itv or itv hub? Being hit with loads of early 00s nostalgia. I'd forgotten how good it was

I love the OC (top 5 favourite shows ever) still watch it from time to time in various steaming platforms and I got the series 1 on dvd. It's just so batshit

I was a teenager when it first came out and all my friends were either Team Seth or Team Ryan

Loved The OC! Although I never understood why Ryan slept in the pool house when there must have been loads of spare bedrooms in that massive house.

That was quite odd. Makes sense when he was just staying for the night/weekend but then they decide to foster/adopt him so he’s there all the time. Wouldn’t it have made more sense for him to be in the house?

Obviously it gives them plenty of opportunities to get up to no good though! Might be harder to get so much stuff done in the ways of girls and nefarious plans with your foster parents in the next room! They really weren’t the best foster parents in the world though as much as I love Sandy and Kirsten 😂 not exactly the calm and healing environment a foster child needs!

I also love the whole section with Luke and Julie! Julie was my guilty pleasure character. She was like a VC Andrews heroine come to life in all her glory. She and Summer have a podcast now all about the OC!

The actresses in real life have a podcast I mean. That’s not just my prediction of what the characters are up to now.

I'm just rewatching it all now. I hate what they did to Kirsten's character, she went from being a successful career woman to becoming a rather pathetic shadow of herself by the end of season 3, I gather she gets pregnant in season 4, a bit sad that that was the only thing they can do for her to give her character some meaning and development...probably thinking into it all too much! Female characters really have come a long way in the last few years to be more dynamic and not monochrome characters largely based around promiscuity or motherhood.

I can see what you mean @user73783 , last night I watched the episode where Kirsten tries to sabotage the potential relationship between Carter and the doctor lady and found it a bit cringy and unnecessary.
Still loving rewatching it though!

Is it just me or does the OC get so much better without Marissa?! I'm loving Ryan and Taylor. So much more fun to watch.

Yes I liked the Ryan/Taylor dynamic in s4 too, do you think they ended up together long term? I always hoped they did!
