14yrs old! Crumbs my DD will be that in less than 6mths time - scary! Will watch with interest. Poor girl,

Pinkchampagne · 11/12/2007 21:58

I know, I'm the same. I found it a real shock to the system becoming a parent at 27, so am amazed at how these really young girls cope with it all.

She was a really good mum, and had such a nice supportive family. Her boyfriend seemed lovely too.

I only caught last 20 mins of this but found it up lifting and postive. I thought she was a lovely girl with a fantastic family. Was teary at end in a happy way. Her mum should be proud.
Anyone know if repeated would love to see whole thing.

coldtits · 12/12/2007 08:15

BamberGascoigne · 12/12/2007 09:08

She is a fantastic mother.
And her parents are great too.

TheMincePiedMadHouse · 12/12/2007 09:12

I thought that this was a well made balanced view of teenage pregnancy, what a fantastic young girl, she took to being a mum much better than me!

LUCYKateallthemincepies · 12/12/2007 09:35

i caught a bit of this programme last night, she is an amazing girl, her parents must be very proud of her. couldn't believe how happy she looked just a week after giving birth considering how many cuts and stitches she had. her baby is so cute, there was so much love in both their eyes for each other

Staceym11PipersPiping · 12/12/2007 09:39

oh balls missed it, is it repeated anywhere?!?!

morgansauntie · 12/12/2007 09:56

Just wanted to add my congratulations as well what a fantastic young mum with wonderful parents they must be so proud of her, it just shows that with the right help and support being a single teenage mum doesn't have to be a totally negative experience - I also thought it was a really well made and balanced documentary.

For those that didn't see it you may need to set your videos because its repeated in the early hours of tuesday morning 18/12 between 12.25AM AND 1.25AM on BBC3 or it may turn up on bbciplayer later.

TheIceQueen · 12/12/2007 10:20

I only sat the last 1/2 or so of it - but was very impressed with her - she really seemed to want to do the right thing, and her boyfriend was lovely - dating an adult women who already has children is a huge thing for some men, but he was only 17/18 and had taken on her lovely little boy.

I just wanted to grab her and give her a hug when she said about wanting her DS to grow up having a father, but that she was sure that the bio-father wouldn't be seeing him again. Wanted to tell her that there are plenty of decent men out there who would take on the "role" of father to her DS and treat him as their own son.

morgansauntie · 12/12/2007 15:29

The programme is now on bbciplayer
I saw the dedication at the end but have only just read in The Times that Tricia Williamson the documentaries producer and director was killed in a car crash last month so sadly she can not read the brilliant reviews her programme has generated

WestCountryLass · 12/12/2007 22:00

Kizzy was a lovely girl

I would like to say hats off to her parents though. Her Dad was lovely and her Mum was really supportive, the whole family should be proud of how they have embraced teenage pregnancy.
