i wanted to slap that maureen woman. the pill doesn't always work!! her grandson should have took responsibility for it himself and worn a condom!

i thought the dad's view about banning abortion completely was a bit ott but i can see where he is coming from.

i really wanted michael to propose to her at the end lol.

i cried all the way through it cos it is just like my life except she was 3 years younger than me when she had kaylib and i've found it hard enough so hats off to her. made me feel quite inadequate!

can't help but feel her school have shipped her off to the college so they haven't got the bad image of having a teen mum at their school whilst making out they are doing it for kizzy.

kezza65 · 16/12/2007 15:15

Thanx folks, having read all of these positive comments we, The Neals, have joined mumsnet, Kerry.... kezza63

slalomsuki · 16/12/2007 15:25

I didn't see the programme but say Kizzy on breakfast TV the other day. She was fantastic and her little boy slept through it all.
How honest she was about the situation and how it showed it could happen to any of us whatever the age

ForcesSweetheart · 16/12/2007 15:27

Missed the program but just had a squizz at your pics, what a wee cutie!!

kezza65 · 16/12/2007 15:44

its not the end of the world, is it??? That little 'bloke' has only brought happiness to our home, not too sure about the proposal comment, we've had enough drama this year & poor 'ole-grumpy-grandpa' is about skint, haha....
We, our family, have no 'ill-feeling' to anyone, i.e. Louie & family, we ALL make mistakes, its how we deal with them that makes us human......

cazboldy · 16/12/2007 15:45

I was 15 2 months before my ds1 was born.
I didn't see the programme, but obviously a lot of you think that Kizzy is doing a good job! So well done and good luck for your future together!

cazboldy · 16/12/2007 15:46

Kezza65 what a lovely lady you are!

kezza65 · 16/12/2007 15:54

you wouldn't have thought soo at 3am this morning as Kaylib is now teething and I think I looked like a charactor from "Shameless" hahahahhahaha

andaRubberDuckinapeartree · 16/12/2007 16:05

Kezza - so glad you found mumsnet

I finally got to watch the show the other day (thank goodness for BBC's iplayer!) and thought what a fabulous mum you were. I think the support your family gave you must have made all the difference and I just know that Kaylib is going to grow up a much loved and secure little boy!

FairyTaleOfNewYork · 16/12/2007 16:09

will watch this tonight

kezza65 · 16/12/2007 16:32

NO, we are just normal people, thats the point, we are people like you and this can happen to any of us, I honestly believe that thier isn't a mum on this site that wouldn't have done things different, parental instinct is a very powerfull emotion..

Merry Xmass all XX

Hi Kezza.
Great that you've found Mumsnet.
Your daughter is a lovely mother.
She obviously has a great role model!

LadyOfWassail · 17/12/2007 23:06

I thought it was an amazing prgramme - expected another "all teen parents are bad parents" type programme and was pleasently suprised watching it. But did I hear right, 11 girls in Kerry's years had gotten pregnant also? SKY + had gone funny so couldn't rewind, but I am so sure I heard that. With regards to the other grandmother (the great grandmother) - she looked like she had watched too much Jeremy Kyle demanding a DNA, what a fool. But what a lovely baby, lovely mum and wonderful support she has.

blanki · 18/12/2007 02:17

Merry Christmas

ADDICTEDtosayingHAAAAAAAPYxmas · 19/12/2007 00:13

how did you come across us? glad you did anyway!! you should get kizzy to join. btw - love the names both kizzy and kaylib. where are they from?

have louie's family seen kaylib since the programme was made? maybe the negative comments about them might make them realise how stupid they've been.

saying that my ds is 17 months and yet to meet his father but we're doing ok. it makes me sad and the older ds gets the harder i find it to imagine letting his dad into our lives again and the angrier i get with him. at first i could understand and thought he'd come round and if he did i'd be fine with it but now i'd really have to bite my lip if he wanted anything to do with him. i wouldn't ever say it was too late though cos i think it's important. i know loads of children grow up fine without a dad but i don't want to be the one to deny him the chance. i've seen it happen before with my 13 year old cousin who totally went off the rails when she found out her dad had tried to see her and her mum had said it was too late.

i wouldn't tell ds it was his dad though at first. i'd want to make sure he wouldn't change his mind again first and was committed to the idea of being a dad to him. i can't be doing with these "convenience fathers" who let their kids down all the time and break promises like my dad did to us.

oh and my other cousin just had a baby. she's 15. her mum chucked her out and she had to go and live with her boyfriend and his family. so yes, unforutnately not all mums are like you

anyway sorry for blabbering on

Michelle1974 · 21/01/2008 23:07

I watched the repeat of the programme tonight and have nothing but admiration for kizzy. She is an amazing girl and has has taken the brave and admirable step of keeping her baby rather than having an abortion. Her son is so beautiful and I am sure she is very proud - she should be. As a new mum myself at 33 - I am amazed at how well she took to motherhood - an inspiration. I wish her and her lovely family and boyfriend all the very best. xx

krazykoolkazza · 22/01/2008 00:19

I saw the repeat too - what a lovely life affirming programme which had me in tears in many places. i thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was very sensitively made.

Kizzie is mature beyond her years and is clearly doing a fantastic job already with the support of her loving, caring family.

Kazza, she and Kalib are a credit to you all and I really do wish you all, and most especially Kizzie and Kalib, all the very best for the future.

notalone · 22/01/2008 12:31

Just caught the repeat and would like to basically say the same as everyone else. Kizzy seems to be a fantastic mother and she has maturity beyond her years. She and Kaylib are so lucky to have such a fantastic family behind them. Good luck to you all

Flier · 22/01/2008 13:28
