The Final. Finally.

OP posts:

Why did they both have two envelopes?
What if both opened envelopes that contained £50K?
Why am I bothered since it was fixed anyway?

SueSaid · 24/08/2021 09:14

'For previous threads/series we've complained about too many influencers and pre-established personalities and this season, when they have had more ordinary people, we've complained it's too dull.'

But they didn't seem like ordinary people they were overfilled, over styled overly made up personality free zones. Except Chloe, Toby and maybe Lillie from casa. They should be all rowdy and a good laugh not the hair stroking bores of this year. Yes I know I should have stopped watching in week 1 Grin

One envelope has £50K and one has nothing. Whoever wins the money can chose to keep it all or split with their partner.

It used to be different they had to both write down steal or split, that was the better way to do it.

desperatehousewife21 · 24/08/2021 09:37

I really don’t want to watch next year if it’s as dull as this years. But I won’t know til I watch it Grin

I might see what the line up looks like next year and if they’re all lip fillered barbie and Ken dolls then I’ll give it a swerve.

They had a red and a black envelope each. They had to choose opposite colours, ie the red envelopes both had 50k and the black both had zero. Millie chose red so Liam had to take black. Also, it was clearly set up for Millie to win the 50k, as Liam was always going to let her choose first, and she was always going to choose a red heart. (Me, cynical? 😆) And actually, Millie probably had 50k in both her envelopes 🤷‍♀️

It was a crap series but I will watch the next. Focussing on it at the start helped me get through a tough few weeks of a family member 's illness.

I thought Lillie from Casa was the worst! All I could see was bleach, lips and severe eyeliner.

Know what you mean otherwise though

TellingBone · 24/08/2021 10:19

Thanks @SpanishFly - I hadn't realised Liam had to open the other colour.

But - BUT - once Millie opened £50K, there was no need for any further envelope action then?

Exactly - there was no jeopardy involved 😆

Sorry to hear that

Once all the couples were settled it became very boring. My favourite individuals of the season were Chloe, Toby, Liberty, Teddy, Millie and Abi and Dale. I think most will be singles within a couple of months, if not sooner.

I think both Millies envelopes had the 50k in them.

I think all the simpering towards Faye and Teddy on the show was supposed to soften the public's view of Faye. That's why her family were unrelentingly positive to her when they visited. The producers were trying to diminish the bad press towards Faye to prevent further suicides. But back in the real world she is going to have quite a shock when she realises how people see her and I'm sure Teddy's friends and family will give him more honest opinions off air.

user1471543094 · 24/08/2021 11:03

I can see why the producers tried to soften people's attitude towards Faye. But I think it is overall a disservice to her and to the younger people watching. Her behaviour was not ok.

It was almost concerning to me that people continued to vote for her.

SpanishFly · 24/08/2021 12:00

FB is full of "Faye and Teddy should have won- she was just being real, saying it how it is, and it was only one outburst, we've all had them" etc

this is very worrying

user1471543094 · 24/08/2021 12:59

Does there be a show a week later with all contestants? I'd like to see what both Teddy and Faye have to say about it after they've had outside opinions.
Although of course I expect that LW probably wouldn't even ask them anyway. Gotta protect Faye at all costs and sure best way to do that is pretend nothing ever happened.

mstroutpout · 24/08/2021 13:12

My 15 year old dd said to me she thought Faye and teddy should have won because they've had the most realistic relationship in there... the extreme highs and lows and screaming fights are apparently "real".

Christ knows what I've done wrong here...

Same situation with Jake/Liberty. It was fake and the producers said end it now, minimise the hatred (for Jake).

It’s not you, that’s ‘passion’ to a lot of teens! I blame Netflix 😂

Reunion show is Sunday 5th September. Hoping for some fireworks!
todaysdilemma · 24/08/2021 15:03

Oooh I will watch the reunion show!

And will be on the MAFS UK thread too. These threads are fantastic!

happilybemused · 24/08/2021 15:59

Yes. LVP used to call them Soapy and Sudsy for their soap opera past

SundaySheAteChocolate · 24/08/2021 17:06

I'm wondering how many couples are still together today ...

Have to admit I wasn’t really paying attention, but assume they had to give them an envelope of each colour as LW couldn’t ask which colour Millie wanted and then hand her that envelope and the other one to Liam due to Covid risk, so they had to have both options covered. It was really badly explained and rushed though after those 20 minute pauses between announcing the X placed couple will be and then actually saying their names!
BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 25/08/2021 06:47

I think this is probably the case.

ChatterMonkey · 25/08/2021 06:57

I wonder when Millie will get a chance to sit down and watch the episodes from Casa Amor. And i wonder if her opinion will change once she sees what happened for herself. Producers have allowed Liam to downplay what actually went on.

I dont think Liam was ever going to bring Lillie back, but he was well and truly in boys holiday mode, what happens on holiday stays on holiday, which shows what hes going to be like in the real world.
