Love Island 18 - Faye's Fractious Fight Night.

Continuation of the Faye-related fractious fun!

I'm not a fan of Faye's behaviour, I just can't find in me to hate her. If anything I worry about she'll handle post-Island life.

I feel like Faye's 'roast' showed very clearly that she's not this up front, tell it like it is, honest soul that she makes out she is. Stuff like the jibes about Jake's bracelets may be true, but she most certainly didn't call him on it at the time or go up and make Liberty aware of her feelings, the way she's reckoning everyone should do if they're not two-faced. She's as two-faced as the next person, very probably more, she just has an extremely warped view of herself. I'm starting to think all this 'hurt' she's been through is really nothing more than anyone else has suffered. She's just so self-obsessed that she blows it up to be more important. God, the way she wrote off how anyone else might feel about the vote, because to her they're simply not entitled to be sensitive like she is. Such a narc! And so sad that Teddy's lost all sense of perception too. Somehow that big row and the way he swallowed all her shit has bonded him to her so they're not in their abusive little bubble, them against the world. This is how gaslighting works. It needs to end, fast.

On a minor side note, I thought it was sad that Mary worried about giving Aaron the ick with her tap-dancing. She shouldn't have to play the pin-up to feel attractive. She should be able to be herself without fear. I think those two are v insecure in their coupling, as their response to the vote showed. Can't believe they could question anyone, given that Mary had already been with Toby and Dale and then only briefly with Aaron. Which is fine as it's the game, but they can't start making out they're made for each other and no one can question that. I thought Jake and Lib's response shows the most security, despite my past reservations.

When I initially watched Faye (and Sharon) attack Hugo for saying he preferred girls with the more natural look I realised her 'type' a bullying loud mouth that listens to no-one and shouts anyone down that has an alternative opinion. Hugo had 12 surgeries to make him able to walk. She didn't like her flat chest so her parents bought her fake ones. She then implanted sausages in her lips (were the lips too flat too). She completely ignored a real physical disability and made it all about her. Surely we can all decide if we like fake lips and boobs etc or not. Her entitlement and narcissistic personality are not pleasant to watch.

Yes unbelievably narcissistic. Just a nasty piece of work all round and rightly being vilified. No excuses about past shit boyfriends or a cynical family. She’s an adult, we still get to choose how we respond to situations. She’s not the only person to have emotional baggage. As PP has pointed out, the red flags were there early on, when she and Sharon without a hint of irony, were berating Hugo, who has a disability that required multiple surgery, for his lack of empathy for their plight of having to have cosmetic procedures to address their insecurities.
I’d say she needs quite a lot if therapy but to be honest she seems quite happy to be an obnoxious narcissistic bully so instead I’d just like her to fade from public view as soon as possible.

This series of LI has become the Faye Show. I haven't watched every single series of LI, I think this is my 4th but I've definitely found it the most uncomfortable.

I think Faye has serious issues and needs a LOT of therapy. Everything is about her (in her opinion). Even in the Beach Hut, I've noticed that she will even make other people's stuff about her. She is unable to accept even the tiniest hint of criticism and seems only able to apologise if she can do it in such a way that she believes she is being the 'bigger person'. She wants openness and honesty from everyone else but is unable to reciprocate. Her temper tantrums are extraordinary and really unhealthy. There is no room for anyone to discuss the accusations she screams out, as she always gets up and walks away. When she apologised to Teddy, I felt she had been fed lines by the LI back office team, as the way she worded her apology seemed unnatural and worded carefully as though she'd been told what to say. It didn't feel heartfelt and genuine in the way that her previous evening's explosive accusations had seemed.

If she gets offered any kind of TV presenter deal on the back of this, I will be really surprised. I can't imagine any TV company wanting to deal with that kind of drama behind the scenes.

This is so true. The way she talked about taking so much on her broad shoulders!! She thinks she's some kind of saint, at the same time as nursing a whole load of self-loathing. But it's always about her either way.

I despise Katie Hopkins but at least she can string a sentence together with a coherent message. Her views are vile of course but Faye's lack of vocabulary, getting up and walking away mid conversation, inability to grasp what someone is saying, getting stuck on repeat... it's painful

I worry about her outside of love island and I really strongly feel she shouldn't have been allowed in. She never had the emotional strength or maturity to handle it.

The irony that Faye called out Jake for copying the bracelet when she was copying a talent show act from a previous season. 🙄

Been lurking these threads all series and finally coming out of my hidey-hole to say I also feel a lot of sympathy for Faye. As soon as she mentioned her parents getting her a boob job for her 18th birthday I realised she must be horrifically insecure

I have no idea how she passed LI's mental health screening procedures (assuming they have any), she should not be on this show and should be in therapy working on herself. Unfortunately, people with issues make great television apparently

I genuinely hope she gets help once she leaves the island, I can't see her taking the inevitable deluge of hate well at all, and this show has already had multiple suicides.

I by no means condone Faye's behaviour (I think the way she behaved towards the rest of her "friends" and Teddy is awful), but I do feel some empathy towards her.

She is the biggest hypocrite there and she just outed herself with the rant, roast, whatever

How can you complain none of your friends were honest and then attack Jake, Kaz and Tyler and Chloe. We never heard any of this from you before, Faye!

She honestly scares me, because imagine thinking Faye is your friend, and all the while this is what she thinks of you, whilst simultaneously shouting at you for not being honest

To coin a favourite LI phrase, what a roller coaster of an episode. I loved the talent show with the exception of Faye embarrassing herself and everyone watching feel forced to laugh because they just wanted the unending horrible atmosphere to lighten up a bit. Teddy's rap was full of pointed little remarks too if anyone noticed. I knew he was weak all along (with an added dose of told you so). Looks good, nothing else much about him.

Faye's blow up was entirely predictable but what I couldn't have guessed was why Mary and Aaron got so arsey with Kaz and Tyler for voting for them and not Brett and Priya. Mary made sure people knew Priya was saying her date was boring during it, but Kaz genuinely didn't hear that. Last thing she knew about Priya and Brett was Priya gushing over how lovely he was and how she enjoyed snogging him that morning.

Faye bullied an apology out of Millie. She literally has no shame.

I don't blame Jake for smiling when Faye went off at him yet again. What the hell else is he supposed to do? I think I also had a little smile to myself - how could anyone be so unaware of how utterly ridiculous they are being (Faye that is)? It's quite funny in one way.

Chloe and Toby for me to win atm.

Did anyone watch Aftersun and see Liberty's friends? They were saying they were for her and Jake but I really think they were saying this to be supportive friends to her and maybe so as not to hinder her chances of winning.

Agree with all of this. I'm not a cheerleader for Faye but I feel sorry for her more than anything.

I still like Kaz but also think Kaz and Tyler's vote may have been slightly influenced by friendship on Kaz's part and tactics on Tyler's. I still don't trust Tyler. I think he thought Brett and Pyria were less of a threat to them than Mary and Aaron so conveniently steered their vote to Maaron with the tosh about "oh they both like science"

But the point is, she's been thinking all these things about them, but not said it to them, just stored it up so it's all come out in this 'roast'. Which is the same as - or worse than - people thinking that her and Teddy are less compatible but not bringing it up (or not even actively considering it) until they're specifically asked to for the vote. She can't have it both ways - painting herself as this honest, say it to your face, paragon while saying none of this until it suits her to go on the attack.

I'm looking forward to seeing Chloby attempt to after a baby 🤦‍♀️😆
