@NammeChannge

I think we should be angrier at the producers than with Faye.

There was ample footage they could have showed that would have put Liam and Millie in jeopardy again. It was so much worse than that shown as Millie has to find out still.

They didn't, as Millie is mature and therefore not good TV, so they deliberately triggered someone who shouldn't have got through the vetting process, in order so show something that closely mirrors Caroline Flack's story.

You could make this sh*t up. I feel.sorry for Caroline as these people would have been her friends and I wonder how much help and support she really got if they are willing to rehash history.

Agreed , article in the mirror today that Faye should be booted out and all the ofcom complaints. Quote from love island is ‘ the islanders welfare is always our main concern’ Yeah right !!
Winemewhynot · 08/08/2021 10:01

Having seen more of Faye and teddy it seems like he gives her the ick... she finds him cringe

Agreed! When he was messing around in the dressing room she was so rude, wouldn’t give him the lickings of a dog. I duno what’s happened there as they seemed to have real chemistry before Hmm

Did anyone else think it was strange Teddy was cuddling Abi and Faye was cuddling Dale when they were all sat together on the swing? No way would I be happy with a fit lass cuddling my fella! More proof she doesn’t give a toss about him!

@Monestera

To make it worse this year the men have been more misogynistic than in any other year.

I think some of the earlier series were much worse. The man who coupled up with Sophie G. really made for uncomfortable viewing.

I agree, the earlier series were way worse in many, many ways.
mayjuneapril · 08/08/2021 10:09

Just properly caught up with Friday nights episode. Reminded me too much of the Big Brothers 15 years or so ago where they’d manipulate a load of drama, give them booze and watch it all kick off Shock

Totally agree Faye must be scary in real life too and I wouldn’t want to meet her outside a night club. I’ve noticed she doesn’t seem to have a huge amount of empathy or consideration for someone else’s point of view but loves kicking off and causing drama. Same when the other girls are having problems she’s right there but it’s more a case of wanting to shout and insert herself into the drama than genuine concern for them.

I hope the producers have learnt not to encourage and manipulate drama this way when it comes to Faye, I agree with others she seems unstable and probably shouldn’t be on the show.

My initial reaction was that Faye should be removed from the villa immediately for abusive behaviour.

But reading the comments I can see that it would be like throwing her to wolves at this point , so the producers some how need to claw this back by giving Faye the opportunity to apologise to Teddy, and redeem herself before she gets booted out.

Has it already gone too far for that though?
What a shit show

Yep, you only need to watch episode 1 of season 1 and you feel like pulling your hair in some of the comments the men are making.
Battleofwhocouldcareless · 08/08/2021 11:32

I'm just watching Series 1 for the first time and the boys are far worse. They are shockingly misogynistic. These boys are gentlemen in comparison.

todaysdilemma · 08/08/2021 11:34

Man Kind has issued a statement against Faye's statement calling it unacceptable

metro.co.uk/2021/08/07/love-island-2021-domestic-abuse-charity-on-unacceptable-behaviour-15053297/

Pleased to see that it hasn't just been brushed under the carpet given how strongly charities came out against Joe, Danny's gaslighting.

carriehagshaw · 08/08/2021 11:59

I'm watching series 3 and although it was only 2017 there's a huge difference in the way the boys talk and act around the girls.

The open misogyny is awful! I can't believe it was only 4 years ago

Blamelesscars · 08/08/2021 12:02

I disagree with everyone saying for fayes shame she shouldn’t be removed. She 100% should be and taken to another location to receive help for her issues and how to deal with the public.
Why should she stay in the villa? It’s clear from Her behaviour she’s going to continue to subject Teddy and anyone who sided with him to her vicious verbal abuse, gaslighting and bullying. Why should he have to be trapped with his abuser day in day out being subjected to further attacks?

Faye is an adult and actions have consequences. She should face up to that rather than be protected because she may a woman.

I only started watching from season 4. The one with Adam Collard, who treated a series of women appallingly. There was an outcry against him and apparently this brought about a change in the men’s behaviour.

TitsInAbsentia · 08/08/2021 12:20

I need someone to put this on a postcard and send it to Liberty in the house...surely it would produce the ick sentiment and get her to move on pronto!

Yeah I agree with this, surely they have something in place where they can remove from the villa but not necessarily just ship home straight away.

I do think they haven't shown some key bits, she went to bed in the main bedroom without issue, so she must have calmed at somepoint and been happy to sleep in the same room as lots of people she was raging at (aside from Teddy who was seperate), and them okay with her there. I don't agree with others that she's having a breakdown or whatever, I think she's fiery and pushes boundaries, with no one there knowing how to handling her she didn't know her end point. Not saying it's acceptable, but I think a lot of people are a bit naieve to how some people behave, I bet she's the same at home too.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 08/08/2021 12:47

In watching Fridays

The way she talks about "that fucking screen!" as if the screen was a thing she's expected all her life

ChequerBoard · 08/08/2021 13:00

The person who had by far the worst news from those movies was Liberty. Yet her shock and pain was minimised because of Faye's abhorrent display.

I wish the other girls would get together and discuss Faye's behaviour. It's clear that Mille and I think Chloe at least thought she was over-reacting in a big way. I'd like them to rally round Liberty and help get some answers from Jake but also tell Faye that her haranguing and bullying of Teddy has to stop.

They are all so scared of Faye that none of them will tell her the way she is behaving is ridiculous and just plain nasty.

Heartshapedrocks · 08/08/2021 13:06

I think if you've never been around someone like Faye before it can be really hard to know what to do, it seems like Chloe tried to intervene and then quickly retreated and said oh you have the best comebacks instead (don't blame her, imagine what it was like being in there!).

I agree the videos were savage for Lib, but just like the postcard, everything has to be about Faye- predictable.

QueenBee52 · 08/08/2021 13:24

The Twitter guessing game will be shelved now

CarpyDiem · 08/08/2021 13:39

Will it?

Assuming the show lives up to its policies, Faye will be gone and no reason not to continue. Indeed, some good reasons why it should, given that family visits may well not be happening because of Covid travel difficulties

QueenBee52 · 08/08/2021 13:57

I'd hope not... but you never can tell... 🌸

Tistheseason17 · 08/08/2021 13:58

The only LI couple I enjoyed watching were (2017) Camilla and Jamie - he was respectful and they were a pleasure to watch - but because the drama was with others we did not get to see as much of what a "good" relationship should look like.
I wish LI would show how a good relationship should be or young people will think misogyny, verbal abuse and cheating are normal.

OrangeSharked · 08/08/2021 14:16

I think both Millie and Chloe thought Fayes behaviour was way over the top but just didn't want to be on the receiving end, no one was going to be able to question her. Chloe made a comment to Toby and Millies facial expressions were quite clear

I also liked how Chloe was gently trying to suggest to Liberty that Jake might not have the best intentions, not just telling Liberty what she wanted to hear. And I liked how Tony kept hugging Teddy.

I think Faye just was waiting for Teddy to prove he was gonna fuck her over, and used the first opportunity. I think whilst the producers knew that Faye was going to do based on that clip that behaviour was always going to happen at some point. If they hadn't manipulated her it would have just come out when they were at home, in private.

I think whilst for Teddys mental health it might have been a good idea for him to stay away, he was going to be angry about the situation too and wanted to say his peice. Every time she even saw him she would shout at him and he shouldn't have to hide in the bedroom out her way until her mood calms down. If she knew that she couldnt control her anger she should have taken herself off to a quiet out the way location like the balcony until she calmed herself down. Its up to her to remove herself from the situation, not him. She shouldn't be inflicting herself on others if she can't control her temper

LadyCatStark · 08/08/2021 14:23

@Tistheseason17what about Luke T and Shanisse? Or Paige and Finn? Or Molly-Mae and Fommy once they’d got over their initial blip with Maura?
