Our Girl Thread 61 "Our Girl, Soldier Soldier and The Musketeers Revisited"

We started to follow "Our Girl" back in 2014 and although there will be no further series, we do revisit from time to time. We have watched all seven series of "Soldier Soldier" to keep up our military terminology and have almost finished the first series of "The Musketeers". Of course, there is a definite connection between "Our Girl" and "The Musketeers" in the delightful form of Luke Pasqualino. We will start on series 2 very soon.

Off Kingy struts full of resentment.

Porthos has all the girls after him.

Rhubarb01 · 24/08/2021 21:57

Well, looks like there's plenty in next week's episode.

Magi84 · 24/08/2021 22:00

Yes all these episodes have plenty of action and several confusing sections but all in all enjoyable.

eejittwo · 24/08/2021 22:04

Sorry - neighbour phoned and had a lot to say.

Ilovelblue · 24/08/2021 22:05

To go back to both your comments eejit and Rhu, the situation in Afghan currently is too close to the OG fiction, that's for sure. Whatever we may think about whichever political party is in power here in the UK, it's nothing to what those poor souls are having to endure just now.

Just started watching the new thriller Vigil on BBC1 and was completely discombobulated by the fact they are using Molly's arrival at the FOB music as the theme tune. Irrationally, want to yell "How very dare you! That will always belong to Molly!" Grin

Ilovelblue · 30/08/2021 22:34

Haha Rhu. I didn't notice that last night but when it started tonight, I couldn't think why the theme tune seemed wrong! It took me a few minutes before the penny dropped.

I whizzed over to the Vigil thread here on MN earlier and it made me laugh as there were so many similarities with that very first OG thread - people with experience of either the Navy or submarines in particular were criticising the lack of attention to detail and the fact the submarine seemed to have too much space.

It seems to have lots of potential and it's one of the best series I've seen on television for a while.

Ah, well maybe I’ll have to give it a look.

Rhubarb01 · 31/08/2021 20:59

All ready for episode 4 - "Emilie"

eejittwo · 31/08/2021 20:59

Anyone on parade?

Ilovelblue · 31/08/2021 21:00

I'm here.

Ladies, I will not be able to do next week at all - hoping to manage a holiday after the upset earlier this month. Are we ok to slip the next episode by a week?

I knew I had seen that woman before - she is Mrs Drew the Pigman's wife from Downton Abbey.

A bit of a Joan of Arc figure it seems.

Ilovelblue · 31/08/2021 21:02

This Emilie sounds a nutter.

Oh that man is Jacob from Casualty and was also on Strictly.

No problem for me ilove.

Rhubarb01 · 31/08/2021 21:03

Is she an epileptic do you think. Talking of the fainting sickness.

Ilovelblue · 31/08/2021 21:03

Emilie's mother or whoever she is was the mother of the disorganised woman on Motherland.

Heavens and here is Olly Rix, aka Bones!

That's a bit of a grim find for a little lad taking his dog for a walk - do you think they actually did that then?

Ilovelblue · 31/08/2021 21:04

That was more than a little bit gory!

Emilie these days would be an influencer on Instagram!

Yes, she's been in lots of things ilove - I remember her from Coronation Street and Foyles War.

Rhubarb01 · 31/08/2021 21:05

Kingy is frolicking with the murderous minx...

Rhubarb01 · 31/08/2021 21:06

Here comes the plot bit...everyone take a break.

Rhubarb01 · 31/08/2021 21:08

Aramis is frolicking with the governess it seems. Oh blimey, he is just trying to keep close to the baby. Poor woman.

Ilovelblue · 31/08/2021 21:08

Aramis the heartbreaker.
