I really enjoy reading everyone's insights and theories.
Most of the time I'm able to explain things away to myself, like eg Ted wearing uniform to assert his rank and distinguish himself in his department, Kate being fire arms trained and able to go undercover at a moment's notice without seeming to have any ongoing practise and checks on her skills etc etc.
This series, like everyone else, I'm absolutely intrigued by the apartment Jo's seen in. She either kept it on while living at Farida's because it's definItely(sic) implied they lived together full time and have now properly split up, or it's not hers or, I have no idea. It's very well equipped and furnished, high end and yet it does have the personal photograph and those bolts. I'm confused and slightly obsessed. Obviously the bolts are only any use when the apartment's occupied, so they're not to protect from break-ins or to keep someone else inside (as suggested on Shrine of Duty)
Going back to past series, series 3, one thing that's always bugged me, which I have to put down to a plot device, is the armed officers outside the interview room when Dot's eventual unmasking takes place and the Urgent Exit message sets off the escape with their help. Those armed officers are guarding the entrance to the building alongside the revolving doors, presumably as standard daily procedure, although I don't think we usually see them. They then accompany Dot and his rep up in the lift and stand guard outside the interview room. I haven't seen any reference as to why, except that Ted and the team now suspect Dot of being highly dangerous and don't realise one is an inside man. Other dangerous suspects haven't been accompanied like that, but Dot doesn't raise any issue with it. Surely he should've questioned it, despite secretly knowing one of them at least was on his side?
Or have I missed something?
