NigellasGuest · 23/03/2021 21:54

I think I could do her job - how difficult can it be to tell someone to say nothing but "no comment" Confused

Teenagerwillbethedeathofme · 23/03/2021 23:37

I am wondering why no sentencing at all for the second kidnap only the first 🤔

Cherrypie32 · 24/03/2021 16:42

I’d be sure Paris’s solicitor is paid extremely well to ‘look after’ him.

Sidge · 24/03/2021 16:58

I just came on to start a thread about this programme!

It’s shockingly brutal isn’t it. The bodycam footage of the second victim. And the child of the first victim asking if daddy’s dead, and knowing it was a revolver. I mean, wtf sort of environment to grow up in where your very young child knows what sort of weapon was used to kidnap daddy.

The police officers were incredible, and so calm in the face of the threats and barely coiled violence of that awful man Paris.

Fascinating insight.

Sidge · 24/03/2021 17:00

I did wonder if his solicitor and his relationship was entirely professional. The body language was - interesting, to say the least.

Laggartha · 24/03/2021 20:54

The body language was - interesting, to say the least.

I know, it was mesmerising.

I actually sobbed at the state of that man and what he’d been through, even though I guessed he’d done bad things too.

Julie was amazing, I am in complete awe and seriously considering writing to her. How she resisted saying, “shush! Go over there and carry on eating your own snot” I do not know.

Laggartha · 24/03/2021 20:55

The brutality was overwhelming. Do you think civilians ever get caught up in it?

bridgetjones1 · 25/03/2021 13:05

I can't believe there aren't more comments on this, it was utterly terrifying but also totally mesmerising.

I used to know a person who was very much like Paris Bolstock, but I knew him before he "went bad" people used to be terrified of him just walking past him.

Also totally agree that his solicitor had a bit more than a vested interest, their body language told us all we needed to know.

DeadBod · 25/03/2021 20:49

Ive just watched this and can't believe the level of violence.
I was making comments about thier rookie mistakes, they needed to torch those cars to get rid of the evidence and as for leaving tape at the scene! Don't they watch police programmes to get tips?

Mydogisagentleman · 26/03/2021 12:03

I watched this at 6 this morning.
It was horrifying. Police woman was very brave and I was glad to see that the firearms unit was headed by a woman.
I appear to be a poor judge of character, I thought that Mr Evers- I forget his first name, was someone who had been dragged into it by mistake.
The solicitor will definitely be visiting him in prison!

RhubarbTea · 26/03/2021 22:33

Yeah I got the same impression about Evers. Maybe he was the only member of the gang who felt guilt and that was showing on his face? Even if he had done terrible things. The others didn't seem to give a shit.

Why did one bloke get off scot free and the others all got huge sentences?? And the one guy who got off was white? Hmm

A truly gripping programme and I can't wait for the next episode.

grandpacificpineapple · 26/03/2021 22:51

I agree it was absolutely gripping viewing. The solicitor was not professional at all and I agree the interactions between her and Bostock were uncomfortable viewing. Although Evers got the longest sentence I think he was low down in the hierarchy of the gang and possibly had got embroiled too far. He at least demonstrated some remorse. The Berwick guy seemed to get away fairly lightly in all of it as well. I wouldn't like to meet any of them in a dark alley!

ilsb · 27/03/2021 12:04

I wonder if the so called legal representative was even a solicitor? If so, she reflects badly on the profession.
How idiotic is she if she's in some sort of relationship with him?
Apparently, the punishment for women who disrespect the gang members is being raped and having their hair shaved off

ilsb · 27/03/2021 12:11

It was cringy watching the solicitor behaving like some love-struck teenager

Hels20 · 27/03/2021 12:13

Fascinating and horrifying programme. I couldn’t believe Evers got the harshest sentence - and he seemed to be the only one with any remorse (or so it seemed that way on his face). Paris Bostock was a vile man (including picking his nose and eating in full view of the camera). He just didn’t give a shit. I also thought there was a flirtation between him and that solicitor. Couldn’t believe the constant stream of threats made to the police at the station.

The beating of the second man - OMG. And the exclamations of the child of first victim - what hope does that child have growing up where the victim is also involved.

There is a second episode this coming Monday - wonder if it will also cover OCGs

RevolvingPivot · 27/03/2021 22:47

I came onto start a thread about this.

The video of the 2nd victim was awful however that's the kind or risk you take if you associate yourself with supplying drugs. His kids will never forget seeing their dad beaten and kidnapped. Although the eldest kid didn't seem very fazed by it.

I don't think it's a black / white thing. Wasn't the only evidence they had on the white one the cap? The others had dna on the gun and tape plus phone evidence.

Crikey. What a nasty bunch of lads. Absolutely shocking and merciless murder.

I was surprised and impressed at his sentence.

Cocolapew · 30/03/2021 22:38

Those wee girls running away was so shocking.
