I think there are a lot of conversations we don’t see and that the conversations we do see are heavily edited. It was clear during the shit sandwich game that they were choosing which h conversations to air and that there was plenty we didn’t see. I am sure players must be having proper chats but they are just not being aired.

This year in particular it seems like the show is intent on being full of twists and drama so I think it is choosing to air the conversations around catfish hunting/ forming alliances etc over the more general conversations. Most of the games and twists have been engineered to stir up bad feeling and negativity, for example by having users be anonymous or forcing players to criticise other players.

I also think this is the first series which was filmed months in advance rather than just a day or two ahead so I guess that knowing how the entire game will play out the producers have been able to have the show edited with specific narratives in mind. They know in advance which characters are going to be influencers or in the bottom and which alliances will be broken etc so they can focus more on the players and conversations leading up to blockings even several episodes ahead. I think that this is why the show feels less fulfilling than past series’, because all of the conversations which allow us to get to know players and give the show some heart have essentially been stripped away in favour of twists, conversations and games which hint at or directly cause drama.

You've voiced my thoughts, @BillyIsMyBunny, but written them clearly . Yes, this may be why it feels...somewhat unsatisfactory.

Such good points @billyismybunny as the show has finished filming they can edit it to suit a narrative.

Admittedly I was only half paying attention, but when they were showing the ratings did they even show Vithun? They've totally written him out. He did make me laugh though when he was going through all the negative labels in the shit sandwich box and was like yeah all of these apply to me!

Yes I know .... I'm not thick.

But someone in series 2 also went in and 'played straight' and so did the US version and as a bisexual person I think a programme that perpetuates that you have to hide your sexual orientation and 'play straight' to be popular is a really toxic message.

I'm thinking Gemma to leave tonight. As a pp said- Andy needs to get rid of a catfish to come up with the goods and Gemma has foolishly offered herself up. Manrika will aid & abet that because she loathes Gemma. I do respect some of Manrika's toughness and fight and her strength but I find her so manipulative and downright nasty, too. I don't like watching her. She's also always hated Gemma, more or less from the start, to answer a Pp- I think she saw a pretty girl and decided competition. Manrika strikes me as the girl who always had to be centre of attention at school and has probably now transferred that behaviour to work. I bet she's pretty nasty to work with if you're not either a toady to her or worth sucking up to.

I don't get how are they all so blind to Andy, either! I am wondering if they are starting to come round to Vithun not contributing much, though. They seem to have realised not to trust him, that they're not communicating with him and perhaps they are starting to fill in the gaps that he is a shit stirrer in anonymous mode. If Gemma doesn't go, he might do, simply for not adding much to the game!

Love to know what Manrika thinks of Pippa who is stunning. And what she'd have made of Natalya if she'd have come in as herself as she just so naturally beautiful!!

I think she's being genuine with her Pippa comments - I think she just really didn't take to Gemma. In fairness to her, she probably clocked the fakeness of the profile. She works in recruitment so she's probably used to bullshit-bingo CVs.

I don’t think Manrika dislikes Gemma because of her looks as she didn’t feel that way about Tally. She has always stated that she doesn’t trust Gemma so I think there were probably some conversations we didn’t see which caused that, it definitely felt like her feelings against Gemma grew stronger during the Tally cloning drama and after Gemma was assassin so maybe there were unseen conversations around those events which cemented her Gemma dislike.
