We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier. We are now on series 7.

Jeremy is thinking about leaving the army and doing aid work.

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:43

Jessica has been pulled out - purpose unknown. Here comes Stacey to the rescue. She's good at intel and shooting.

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:44

I'm guessing that Mark has changed his mind and intends to try and help her. This seems so OG.

Ilovelblue · 27/04/2021 21:45

This is a bit different to some of the episodes of late. It reminds me a bit of the episode in Nigeria.

They're going to torture Jessica? Mark Hobbs goes in first. Fat slob mercenary realises he's not going to beat her into submission after all.

Mark helps Jessica. They are going to try to escape. She's a game girl, get up into those rafters, love...

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:46

I'm not sure it was torture of the beating up kind, they had in mind there ilove. Trying not to think about it.

Ilovelblue · 27/04/2021 21:47

Mark says her only chance of escape is to get out through the air vents.

The rest of the lads are forced outside at gunpoint.

Mark crawls out onto the roof of the building, with Jessica following close behind.

OMG, blood stains behind the wall. What's going to happen. Can Jessica somehow rescue them all?

Good on you Mark. I knew he was there for a reason. The OG similarities are many.

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:48

Action man Mark Hobbs....nifty driving work there. Chris has taken a bullet for Jessica when her gun jammed, but Mark does for her.

I think that's it for poor Chris...

eejittwo · 27/04/2021 21:48

I had the same thought,Rhu

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:50

Poor Angie.

Mark gets away after helping out his mates.

Sad end music Sad Sad

Ilovelblue · 27/04/2021 21:50

This is a James Bond type rescue. She throws a petrol bomb.

Oh Lord, Chris McLeod has been killed. I think it should have been Jessica and he moved over to defend her but it all happened so quickly. I really liked Chris.

CSM Fitzpatrick gives Mark a free passage out and he disappears into the sunset.

Sad about Chris especially as he and Angela had just sorted themselves and were together again. Now what does that remind you of.

eejittwo · 27/04/2021 21:53

What did Jessica say to the Colonel? I didn’t”t make it out.

Ilovelblue · 27/04/2021 21:53

Well, that was action packed.

Quick question before we all retire for the night. We'll have to start a new thread I imagine before the end of the final episode but will we close that one down and start a Musketeers one? Do we abandon all references to OG? Does it still go into Telly Addicts?

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:54

She said "What a waste!" I think eejit as she was holding Chris. Lots of meaningful looks between the Colonel and Jessica. She is going to be absolutely fuming mad with him about this.

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 21:58

I think we should keep the Our Girl connection because we will probably rewatch at some point - we could just make reference to the connection with LP and Musketeers - maybe a picture of Elvis and D'Artagnan?. I'm guessing it should still stay in Telly Addicts because that's what we are Grin

Rhubarb01 · 27/04/2021 22:00

Personally, I would hate to abandon a thread - as we've managed to fill every one up so far.

Magi84 · 27/04/2021 22:01

Yes should stay inTelly Addicts and I agree an OG reference. Thanks for doing it ilove.

Ilovelblue · 27/04/2021 22:03

OK, I'll try and come up with a suitable description but will be happy to receive any other suggestions along the way.

I've just got my first series of Musketeers DVD from eBay.

I must say that the decent characters in this series are Mark, Chris, Angie and Jeremy. The 3 amigos are a pain, though Sgt Shouty has marginally redeemed himself.

eejittwo · 29/04/2021 22:05

Just re-reading this and noticed your comment Magi. And Chris had a ‘secret’ child as well ...

Rhubarb01 · 29/04/2021 22:25

Yes eejit little Laura. It still strikes me as strange that CJ must have known the truth about Elvis's no show at the wedding but Georgie doesn't find out for two years. I'm surprised it never came out or she didn't ask CJ more. Remember those tent conversations? Ample opportunity to let slip, but it wouldn't be as dramatic as his beer fuelled, teary confession.

eejittwo · 30/04/2021 07:14

Also, the complete absence of any mention in series three. On the other hand, in the shower scene, when CJ sees the tattoo on Elvis’s arm, his remark suggests he doesn’t know about Laura.

has anyone else seen MKs Instagram this morning? what does it mean?!
