Our Girl Thread 59 "Our Girl and Soldier Soldier Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier. We are now on series 7.

Eeek, didn't like that expression about the bermuda shorts! Too much information.

So Sgt Shouty has finally told Jeremy and they are off in a rescue chopper.

I will never look at Bermuda shorts again the same way.

Good, Jeremy has got involved now and they'll be going to find the casualties. How nice to be able to summon up a helicopter at a minute's notice. I hope Fitzpatrick's card gets marked for this.

I reckon Sgt Shouty will be in trouble now. At least Jeremy can tear him off a strip and he needs it.

They've spotted Mark and Andy and have landed. The chopper takes off again to find Tony and Jacko.

Sarah has put the word around that Kevin is gay as he rebuffed her advances.

Nick of time, managed to stop Tony confessing all.

The two men in red about to rescue Tony and Jacko - are they army or potholers/rescue types

The music at the end just before the credits is so like the music for similar scenes in Sharpe although the composer wasn’t the same ...

Sgt Shouty calls in to congratulate the lads - he has to save face somehow.

Tony ends up in the hospital wing and CSM comes to visit - with a guilty conscience no doubt. He even gives Mark a metaphorical pat on the back.

Gutless, Tony. Knew he'd do the dirty on her again.

A reasonable episode without too many storylines going on at once but these haven't been a patch on the earlier series.

Let's hope Julie has the good sense to give them both a wide berth. Also hope we get back to real army stuff soon as these rather comic episodes are a pain.
