I used to like so many of them - The Flumps, Fingerbobs, Barbapapa, Mr Men, Mr Ben and Bod

So what was yours?

I think the Civil War one was called "The Flashing Blade." I too loved "WHite Horses" "Belle and Sebastian" and "Robinson Crusoe." They don't make 'em like that any more.

WigWamBam · 14/10/2004 17:43

Bunglie, I'd forgotten about Time Slip and The Tripods, I loved those!
At various stages in my life I liked Tingah and Tucker, The Clangers, Champion the Wonderhorse and Magpie (much cooler than Blue Peter!).

And no-one has mentioned Bagpuss!

pixel · 14/10/2004 17:50

How about 'The Herbs' with Parsley the lion, Witch hazel and Lady Rosemary?

Crystal Tipps and Alistair

Hector's House (was it Dusty mop?)

Rhubarb and Custard

Clangers

Fingerbobs

Later on it was Follyfoot and Champion the wonder Horse (or anything with 'horse'), The Tomorrow People and Arthur of the Britons cos I fancied Oliver Tobias.

Thomcat · 14/10/2004 17:55

Oh yeah Pipkins that was the name.
god I loved that show 'Here come hartley" and @sticky bunnnsss" and @time for a story". I'd love to see that now, see how bad it was!

Does no-one else rememebr Champion the Wonderhorse? I'm going to keep mentioning it until someone remembers it with me !!!!

Bellie · 14/10/2004 17:58

I remember it and Ivanhoe with Roger Moore!

treacletart · 14/10/2004 18:15

Turquoise it was the flashing blade... It was French...

"You've got to fight for what you want,
for all that you believe.
It's right to fight for what you want,
to live the way we please.
As long as we have done our best,
and no man can do more.
Then life and love and happiness,
are well worth fighting for."

anorak · 14/10/2004 18:18

The Monkees
Lost In Space

turquoise you surely are NOT the oldest person on here!

turquoise · 14/10/2004 18:44

I'm on a roll now with these links. MN has really cheered me up today. Don't even feel so ancient any more!

"......... Munchenhausen" or something!!

80sMum · 14/10/2004 19:02

Thomcat, I LOVED Champion the Wonderhorse! I remember the song started something like .."like a mighty arrow whizzing from a bow .." or something. I remember Ricky and Uncle Sandy! Also loved the Woodentops, though by the time we got a tele (1966) I was a bit old for that sort of thing! Didn't know there were so many of us oldies out there! Anyone remember Casey Jones?

turquoise · 14/10/2004 19:03

Yep - "steamin and a'rollin.."
Loved those stripy hats!

80sMum · 14/10/2004 19:05

OK, so how many Tales from Europe can you remember? The one that sticks in my mind is The Singing Ringing Tree.

dottee · 14/10/2004 19:06

I preferred Magpie to Blue Peter in the 70's. I think it was because I had a crush on Pete Brady. Weired ... I know!

dottee · 14/10/2004 19:11

Magpie to all you under 40!!!

WigWamBam · 14/10/2004 19:14

Casey Jones! Oh yes! The Cannonball Express!
And Skippy the Bush Kangaroo

80sMum · 14/10/2004 19:20

"There'll be Casey Junior and the Redrock too, Fireman Wally and the rest of the crew, in a thrilling adventure that's a lot of fun, when Casey takes the Cannon for another run. Casey Jones, steamin' an' a rollin', Casey Jones, you never have to guess: When you hear the tootin' of the whistle it's Casey at the throttle of the Cannonball Express!" Can still hear it now!

popsycal · 14/10/2004 19:23

I loved:
barnaby the bear

popsycal · 14/10/2004 19:23

anyone remember a program called 'simon'

well you know my name is simon..
and the things i draw come true.....

hmb · 14/10/2004 19:28

Time Slip, The tomorrow people (oh how I wanted to be able to 'jaunt' still do if I'm honest ), Blue Peter, Ace of Wands, The Double Deckers, Jackanorey, Tales of the River Bank and Noggin the Nog.

I also remember (not sure if I loved tho) Belle and Sebastian, White Horses and the singing Ringing tree, now that one was wierd.

Anyone else remember 'If you were me' when kids from different countries swapped, I liked that one! Sort of like Wife Swap but without the Fing and Blinding!

hmb · 14/10/2004 19:29

I'm ashamed to say that I always thought that the words for Casey Jones were,
Casey Jones, Stephen Andrew Rowlands,
Casey Jones, you never have to guiess.

Why I never thought this odd is beyond me!

Lowryn · 14/10/2004 19:33

Oh yes, The Adventure game!
I was naive enough to think that the contestants that got hit by the vortex didn't ever return!

I loved Bod and The Flumps, Rod and Emu and Rent a Ghost too.
