Anyone watching?

I love stuff like this.

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 19/12/2019 11:31

I would do it all again I loved the newborn stage

CaptainMyCaptain · 19/12/2019 11:37

I'm catching up now.

Poor Mo. If I was him I'd be seriously thinking about a one way ticket to Egypt not 2 weeks on 2 weeks off an oil rig. MiL would probably be quite happy about that while continuing to slag him off.

Eilidh talking in the hospital brought tears to my eyes.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/12/2019 11:47

Interesting Mom of 5 said if he didn't want another then he just had to stand firm for a few months. So almost like she knows if it gets past a point, the hormones will change and she'll get a bit of freedom and she won't want another but she's not strong enough to get through the hormones herself. Whereas if he said no, actually she'd respect that

SleepingStandingUp

I would probably be portrayed as the walking dead arm Xmas Grin

Although I could see a bit of myself in all the families on that show, the highs and lows.

I do agree with the one poster who said about the mum of five becoming the new Radcliffe's. I think pregnancy and newborn stage can be addictive to some

purpleme12 · 19/12/2019 11:57

Well yes if you want to go something and your husband lets you of course you're going to do it.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/12/2019 12:02

I'm not sure how old she is, but I think nature might stop her before thry get many more numerous...

Hmm we'd be the working class, def the more chaotic end of coping family lol but hoping having the twins would win us some sympathy in SM.
Although DH is currently having a nap whilst I have both babies so that'd get an interesting response 😂😂😂😂

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 19/12/2019 12:41

its not quite the same, the cabin crew dads are working 2 weeks on and off, but as I understood it they could have a 4 day trip then a night at home, then a 2 day trip...they arent away for 2 weeks straight. In addition the job could have called Mo at any point to go into work.

No not quite the same. Similar. No two jobs aren’t identical. It’s more similar than the usual “dad home at 6 every day” that Mo currently has which was my point. The other dads Are doing a similar thing to what Mo was considering.

I’m coming at it from the perspective of a former forces partner so to me 2 weeks away, or 3 months for that matter, isn’t a horrific thought. Horses for course though. Everybody’s different. I think Mo might have made a different decision if it was just him and Syler involved in it. She seemed quite happy about the proposal.

CaptainMyCaptain · 19/12/2019 12:48

My Son in law works off shore in a more specialist job and, I'm pretty certain, it's illegal to be off shore for more than 3 weeks at a time, certainly in the North Sea and European waters.

Deepblueriver · 19/12/2019 12:56

Sleepstandingup the farming family are not welsh. They are from Northumberland. Not all sheep farmers are welsh🤣🤣🤣.

I am sorry to hear your little one had a similar experience. I hope they are ok now. It sounds like you are doing an amazing job with the twins. How many children do you have?

SleepingStandingUp · 19/12/2019 13:37

@Deepblueriver he sounds Welsh and her name sounds Welsh and I haven't sleep properly in months 😂😂😂

SleepingStandingUp · 19/12/2019 13:39

Just the three @Deepblueriver and it took a while after the eldest to consider then like buses... 😂😂😂😂 He's good, still on o2 and part tube feeds but basically a PJ Masks obsessed, noisy 4 yo 😂😂

Pumpkinspicewhatever · 19/12/2019 13:53

The mum of 5 reminds me of my own mum. There’s 6 of us with fairly close age gaps and our dad was very clear about not wanting more than 2 but didn’t put his foot down and he left when my youngest sibling was a baby. Now we are all adults, mums mental health issues are extremely apparent and the PPs suggesting this mum of 5 is distracting herself from something by having babies rang such a chord about how I feel about my mums life. I have terrible attachment issues and crippling anxiety as an adult, she couldn’t look after us all like we needed. I am likely only going to have one child as the “chaos” of a big busy family had lasting effects on me and I wouldn’t say in a good way.

Himawarigirl · 19/12/2019 14:18

I really enjoyed this show, especially the Nkrumah Family. But a relatively small detail, I noticed, was their dad ironing their school uniform every morning? Surely life is too short??

lynsey91 · 19/12/2019 14:19

I think it is weird to have a really young baby and say "I want another". It's like she sees pregnancy and birth just as something to be got out of the way so she can have yet another baby.

I think her argument for having so many is silly and a very weak one. Siblings often don't get on.

I would be surprised if they stay together

purpleme12 · 19/12/2019 14:24

Yes I thought the argument about them needing brothers and sisters was odd as so many don't get on.

NoSauce · 19/12/2019 14:31

Helen won’t stop at 6. She’s trying to fill that hole.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 19/12/2019 14:49

Did Helens parents feature or only Nigel’s parents?

BerniesGirl · 19/12/2019 14:54

I’d be surprised if Helen and her hubby are still married in a couple years. He looks completely fed up and dead behind the eyes. But I don’t feel sorry for him - he should be saying No to her and he should just get a vasectomy.

LolaLollypop · 19/12/2019 14:56

I have a NICU/SCBU baby born in 2017 and the breastfeeding support was really good. The ward (Homerton hospital) actually had a breastfeeding specialist to sit with you and help you.

And Eilidh is actually a Scottish name, not Welsh Grin

SleepingStandingUp · 19/12/2019 15:07

I have 6 day old twins, no one is allowed to pick on me 😂😂

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 19/12/2019 15:23
Grin
dottypotter · 19/12/2019 16:06

horrible tatoo on the gay dads covering his whole arm? The the other arm looked much better. Glad my dads arm isnt like that.

purpleme12 · 19/12/2019 16:08

I think these comments are just trying to goad

Deepblueriver · 19/12/2019 17:26

Sleepstandingup I am pleased that he is doing well now. Caring for 6 day old twins and a 4 year old on oxygen makes you a super mum.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/12/2019 17:47

Or just tired @Deepblueriver 😴😴😂

The dad with the two boys was clearly struggling with the lack of physical relations with Mom breastfeeding, and of course there's the issues of pain etc with sex.
Did make me wonder if it was easier for the two Dads to keep the emotional intimacy going if they could continue physical intimacy more easily. But then they have twins...
