Me too Raahh!

Redshoeblueshoe · 31/12/2018 23:11

Raahh if your DS is 16 you must be very old. except I have a teenage GC so I'm proper old
Raahh have you seen the Snowmen at Media City ? They're fun

Raahh · 31/12/2018 23:25

I was 47. 47 Shock yesterday.

It seems like such an odd age. Grin
46 was fine. 48 sounds ok, but 47? nope. Don't like it.

I missed the snowmen, red but my friend has been and has I've seen some great pictures.

Ds is in town. I've heard the news. and I'm panicking a bit even though I keep texting him, and he keeps replying, and I know that he's with a lot of people.

I will be up waypast midnight.

Redshoeblueshoe · 31/12/2018 23:28

Raahh their up until the 6th.

Raahh · 31/12/2018 23:40

Are they? we might make a trip this week. They look really good.

I still feel bad that we didn't do the Bee trail, although we saw quite a lot. them, we didn't do it properly.

And- (this will mean nothing to anyone else)- if you see any odd looking posters on tram stops, (part of the Youth council Clean air project) , well, ds and his youth club designed those- and recently won an award. He had a swanky dinner at the Radisson Blu in Manchester. Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/12/2018 23:53

Glad your DS is ok Raahh - when I saw the news I thought of you. Looks like the person has been arrested now.

I'm 47 too. I don't know how it happened.

MadisonAvenue · 01/01/2019 00:00

Raahh It pains me to say my age, but I'll say that I'm a couple of years older than you (just can't say the actually number) and in 2019 I have a birthday with a 0 on the end....and I'm dreading it. I struggled with the last two 0 birthdays.
Anyway, Happy Birthday for yesterday!

My 18 year old is in a pub, the 21 year old is out walking up a hill in our village with his girlfriend.
The 18 year old has already been quizzed by the police today about drug dealing. Unbeknownst to him and his girlfriend, they were sitting in his car somewhere dealers hang around - on Sainsbury's car park of all places!

Raahh · 01/01/2019 00:00

Anne when the news came on my phone, my heart dropped. I couldn't stop him going out, and if the Christmas Markets were anything to go by, the police presence will be high. He's now at Albert Square.

dh is snoring. Dd2 fell asleep with her glasses on.

It's party central chez Raahh. Grin

MeetOnTheSIedge · 01/01/2019 00:06

I'm not 47Sad. It took me several months to get over being 50 but I'm ok with it now.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/01/2019 00:06

It must have been awful. Dreading DD being old enough to go out.

I'm the only one awake here. Even AnneDog is sleeping through the loud fireworks.

Raahh · 01/01/2019 00:07

Thank you Madison dh was 50 last year now Grin.

it was pretty un eventful .Overshadowed by my sister's 20th wedding anniversary.

I'm 19 in my head - forever. It's December 1990, I've just had my first term at university, my parents have split up ,but somehow, it the optimum time to go back to- if I had a time machine.

I love my dh, and children. Obviously. Grin

But December 1990 , me being 19. That's who I am, in my head Grin.

MeetOnTheSIedge · 01/01/2019 00:09

Raahh - I'd be anxious too. Mind you there is really nowhere for then to go round here apart from each other's houses, but even that is not without potential problems. All still up here but not for much longer.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/01/2019 00:15

I'll meet you there Raahh. Same age, same situation, and forever 19 in my mind.

MeetOnTheSIedge · 01/01/2019 00:16

I've been watching Queen at Wembley tonight - I was there, aged 19 or thereabouts. Happy days.

MadisonAvenue · 01/01/2019 00:42

What is it about 19? That's where I'd go back to as well. Good job, money all mine and no responsibilities, out clubbing in Birmingham every weekend, great holidays. Not a bloody care in the world.

Now I have sleepless nights with our 18 year old. Out of the two lads he's the one who goes to clubs and has a more active social life and stays out to all hours. Just a few weeks ago he said he'd be home by 11 on the Saturday night as he had work at 10am on the next morning, then it changed to Midnight, then 1 - and it was going to be 1 at the latest.
4.45am was when his car headlights lit up the close. My husband was working away so I was fretting all by myself, and I don't like to ring or text our son when there's a chance he's going to be driving.

I thought I worried a lot when they were little but that was nothing compared to how stressful it is now that they're both driving.

FuzzyCustard · 01/01/2019 17:16

Ah you are all a load of children. Children, I tell you.
I shall be 61 very soon and have absolutely no idea how that happened. In my head I am about 22. I do not have a grey perm, a floral pinny, a leaky bladder, a balance problem or forget things. I wish the world would accept all that. Trust me.it doesn't!

I've just re-read my post and I have made it sound as though I actually DO have the list of "old-age issues". I don't I don't!!!
