Can you just give the autistic hate a rest now, Bear? Yes it's very wearing.

JohnnyKarate · 01/12/2018 22:59

Emily and the chilli was a bit naughty!

VerbeenaBeeks · 01/12/2018 23:01

Me three to this. Enough already

CakeNinja · 01/12/2018 23:02

Did she eat it? I didn’t quite hear what happened to it but she was confessing to something! I thought I heard her say she dropped it but then after that something about the fact that she really loves chilli?!

Bearbehind · 01/12/2018 23:08

No idea which post was deleted.

I don’t ‘hate’ autism.

My whole argument is that it shouldn’t matter in this situation.

You can either cope with the jungle or you can’t

If you can you do it

If you cant you don’t

Nesssie · 01/12/2018 23:09

Have to admit, after being ruled out of a trial where she just has to lay in her back and have gunk dumped in her, I’m getting a bit fed up of Anne.

Also, agree with bearbehind isn't saying anything of the sort. Stop trying to outdo each other to show how wonderfully understanding you are, it's even more patronising than the camp mates. too much pandering to her in the camp, and on here.

I didn’t really understand what she meant to be fair, did she have two or drop it? I feel like she should have just owned up to them though. Reminded me of the strawberries last year 😂

AppleKatie · 01/12/2018 23:20

Emily ate the chilli!

Yes that wasn’t great behaviour.

bear we’ve heard enough of your demonstrably wrong opinion so give it a rest now. Perhaps we can talk about something or someone else for a bit?

NancyDonahue · 01/12/2018 23:21

I agree there needs to be some quizzes or mental tasks. Some Krypton Factor style puzzles would be interesting and give Anne a chance to flex her brain. She must be bored stiff. I'm sure there used to be more if that type of task in past series. The eating, drinking and bugs/taped up crocodile tasks are getting really boring now.

Bearbehind · 01/12/2018 23:31

If my opinion is ‘demonstrably wrong’ please tell me why autism prevents a person from gathering wood.

BoredOutOfMyMind · 01/12/2018 23:53

@Bearbehind - I said the exact same thing at the time when they said for her not to collect firewood.
If you cannot do basic tasks in the camp you should not be there.
Collecting firewood ( that is cut & dumped) is a basic task. Every camp mate should be able to fulfill every camp duty.

NoLogicInThis · 02/12/2018 00:03

Bear I think Anne has a bad back which she has mentioned before about sleeping in the hammock so it's nothing to do with her autism but it's because of her back

BishopBrennansArse · 02/12/2018 00:06

That's not been the case in previous years though, has it? Particularly with regard to older camp mates. So why do you suddenly want to change the exemption on medical grounds now?

BishopBrennansArse · 02/12/2018 00:08

Stanley Johnson, Rebekah Vardy and Rebecca Adlington are 3 I can find immediately from googling, by the way.

whatsthestory123 · 02/12/2018 00:12

I dont dobt Anne has a bad back she is very obese

she needs to be more physical.not just camp but in the real world

imo she should of seen being in their as a kick start to getting healthy

restricted diet and physical exercise is whats needed and imo she had the perfect place to kick start s better lifestyle

its getting to the point of what anne can do rather than can/wont

OP posts:
BishopBrennansArse · 02/12/2018 00:16

Except what came first? Do you have access to her medical records?

Back problems can lead to massive weight gain due to inactivity, medication such as steroids will do the same thing.

whatsthestory123 · 02/12/2018 00:27

it really dosent matter what anybody says you are blind sided and will always find a reason to not see a negative where Anne is concerned within camp, exscuse after exscuse

i understand that you feel you need to speak up about it but its coming across as Anne's behaviour in camp it totally fine and non selfish

she even said herself her home is an utter mess, she seems lazy and the others are treating her like a snowflake, she shows no real team spirit and thinking of the others (trials)

OP posts:
BishopBrennansArse · 02/12/2018 00:41

Messy homes are often down to executive dysfunction.

I'm not blind sided at all, just well and truly pissed off with the dogged attacks. I've not been the only one.

MarcieBluebell · 02/12/2018 06:52

Rita made me laugh. A sporner!! I can't believe we didn't get a good view of the spots. Phaha.

Also that eel looked disgusting.

AppleKatie · 02/12/2018 08:54

If my opinion is ‘demonstrably wrong’ please tell me why autism prevents a person from gathering wood.

All hail the straw man argument!

Bearbehind · 02/12/2018 10:20

It’s not a straw man argument at all, it demonstrates that it is disingenuous to be arguing her lack of participation in the camp is entirely due to her autism.

She never even seems to get up to welcome camp mates back from trials.

ScrantonTheElectricCity · 02/12/2018 10:22

We don't know how it's being edited and how the producers are manipulating us viewers, but on the whole I agree with you @bearbehind

AppleKatie · 02/12/2018 10:27

You have no idea how much she is participating.

You have no idea how much her other medical conditions restrict her mobility.

You have no idea how much of her behaviour is down to her autism.

Nor do I.

But let's look at what we do know-

Her behaviour is consistent with what we know about how autism can present.

The people that are living 24 hours with her and actually are practically affected by her behaviour (have to do things for her, make allowances for her performances in trials, collect the wood etc.. etc..) like and respect her. They are showing her nothing but kindness and consideration.

Yet you, who sees her on an edited programme for an hour or so a day think it's ok to dismiss her disability call her names and get angry about her participation.

You know that's weird right? And that none of the camp mates 'owe' us anything.

Bearbehind · 02/12/2018 11:00

apple the bit you refuse to acknowledge is that I’m not dismissing her disabilities.

She will have been medically assessed before she went in and is ruled in or out of each trial on a case by case basis.

One has to assume that if medical professionals deem her fit to participate then there is no reason she cannot take part.

It is pointless discussing this though - at the end of the day it’s just a reality tv show.
